Connecting equipment to TV
Hi
I posted the other week on behalf of a friend who doesn't have a computer so can't find the info out. It was regarding connecting equipment to his TV but it couldn't be answered because at the time I was unable to get the information on the equipment he has. However, I now have that to hand and wondered if I could try again to get some help please? TV is Sony Bravia - model KDL-32V40XX (2 SCARTS) PVR model is LUXOR PVR 320-690 (1 SCART) DVD RECORDER with Freeview - model is PANASONIC DMR-ES20DEB (2 SCARTS) DVD/VCR combi - MODEL SAMSUNG V6800 (2 SCARTS) He also has a scart extension lead/3 sockets (scarts) which is attached to the TV (AV2) which the DVD recorder and VCR combi is plugged in to <scream>. No idea what all this is about!! ![]() The way it's all connected now when TV is switched on the picture eventually fades and the PVR comes on and he can only watch TV through that as the picture comes good when that happens! Also the DVD recorder although set to record doesn't record and it comes up as no signal. I am assuming it is the wiring to all this that's not correct. So am now wondering if given this info some kind soul could come up a wiring diagram/connection help for me to pass on please (pretty please lol). I will try and answer any questions IF I can. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give - without tearing your hair out <smile>. Bel |

Connect the latter 2 direct to the two TV scarts. Connect the single scart pvr to either of the vcr scarts on the ones connected to the TV. The box to which you have connected the pvr should have a source button on the remote to switch the pvr through to the TV.

The TV and the Panasonic have Component sockets, connect the Panasonic via Component, and the other two via SCART.
As for the Panasonic not recording?, assuming it's Freeview capable it needs the aerial routing through it. |

See the Which? Connection Wizard but note the disclaimer.
If the Luxor and the Sony have HDMI, use them

Please post the solution when it's all sorted. I'd love to see the result as there are other posters who have never been back to say thank you.
Well I always get back to say thank you so here I am. Thank you so much for the help and interest in my question. The unfortunate part of the outcome of this one though is that my friend just simply didn't bother ![]() and is now waiting until his daughter visits in April (!) to help him out! Hmmm...and all the efforts I put in with diagrams et al has gone to waste. Well you can help some people and others are just...er...beyond it methinks! Thanks again at least I appreciate your kindness. Bel |

Ah well, at least you know where to find the connection wizards for your own use in the future.
Ask your friend for the solution once his daughter's sorted it
