Ash when they were during the Free all Angels time. They were really good, I didnt really know what to expect, obviously there would the band playing, but I wasnt sure about what it feel like. The buzz and atmosphere was so good, such a good memory. And Tim Wheeler wore a sleeveless tshirt, and was very easy on the eyes too. Always a plus.

The Rolling Stones at the Glasgow Greens Playhouse { was renamed The Glasgow Apollo in 1973 } - tickets were 6/9 { six shillings and nine old pennies } so had to be before Decimal Day { 15 February 1971 } so it was either 1969 or 1970 - I still have the ticket stub hence I know the cost but as its buried in the garden shed I am not going hunting for it to see what the date was.

That was a real band playing live - no backing tapes - what they played is what you got.

Who would have thought they would still be performing forty years later.

Mine was a band called The Icarus Line at the Leeds Cockpit, a friend won tickets from a radio station and they weren't playing anywhere near where we lived so we had to go over to Leeds for it

Mine was some crappy Radio 1 roadshow that I had to go to as my sister was looking after me and I had no choice. I remember Five, Jimmy Ray and Olive being on the line-up.

Apart from seeing various mates' bands at school, my first gig was The Primitives at Teviot Row Union, Edinburgh, October 1987.

I can vividly remember having a debate that it was them, and not The Primevals, because it seemed to good a booking for fresher's week.

It was bloody good

Fleetwood Mac in their 'Behind the Mask' tour at Wembley Stadium, 1990.

Amazing first proper live gig experience.

And I did the lighter thing!

The first live show I ever saw was the Backstreet Boys on their 'Millennium' tour, it was amazing. The fact that they're still going strong now is amazing, they've been together for almost 19 years.

100% the truth. My 1st gig was with my mate when we were 15. We got free tickets to the Hammersmith Odeon. To see Gary Glitter. We loved it.
Don't think I'd go now though!

I saw him in the late 80s, we went because Girlschool were the support band, and to be fair it was a really good show.

My first gig was Dexy's Midnight Runners at Poole Arts Centre in 1986 [ I think ], during the whole 'too-rye'ay' era....was good fun.

Soon after, my first big outdoor gig was Simple Minds at Milton Keynes Bowl with an interesting support bill - didn't see the the Medics and barely remember the rest...although I do recall the Bangles, strange to see them alongside The Cult!

SIMPLE MINDS with The Bangles, The Cult, Lloyd Cole and The Commotions, Big Audio Dynamite, The Waterboys, In Tua Nua, Dr and The Medics, Sat 21st June

Mine was the Capital Radio Junior Best Disco. I suppose what is now Capital Summertime/Christmas Ball. Artists there were Bros, Mica Paris, Curiosity Killed The Cat, I can't remember all of them. I only cared about Bros

First proper concert was Madonna's Girlie Show in 93. I cried my eyes out because I finally got to see my idol after worshipping her for years. I'd have loved to have gone to her Blonde Ambition Tour.
