Mine arrived from shopto last night.
I have only had a quick a go on it - played through the opening world of the first game and a section of the second. Absolutely brilliant - the HD spruce up has worked really well, it looks great. It plays as well as it ever has. The cutscenes look a bit ropey which is a shame as they are really well written, but all in all... excellent. |

Mine came yesterday from Amazon, was on it til midnight last night and have now lost it to my 7 year old.
I had it on PS2 years ago and loved it, it's just as good as I remembered, and just as infuriating! Spent a good while last night on Blackwater City, trying to make a run for it from the water that catches you.

Mine arrived from Amazon today. I've played some of the first game, and it's just as fun as I remembered. I am going to have many happy hours with this disc!
@poppycat - gulp, I had a terrible time completing the water escape thing on my PS2 copy years ago. |

Started playing it for the time today and its fantastic i did a couple of planets and i'm upto to metropolis looking for the captain fella (i'm sure i'll start to remember names after a few more goes) i love the humor, i love the gameplay i'm sure there will a hard part that will piss me off but as long as i get through i'm pretty sure it'll join Jak and Daxter as reason for why i am greatful for Classics HD
A quick question though, does tools of destruction follow on from the third game, i only ask as i got it as an extra present at christmas and was all ready to play it when i first heard about this collection and i thought it made more sense to play their story from the start |

<- what my face looked like as I attempted it. ![]() I see one of the trophies is for completing the hoverboard race in under 1 minute 25. I did it in 1 minute 40-something seconds tonight, I don't think I'm going to be able to get this trophy. And it took me several attempts before I got 1st place. It wasn't as difficult as it seemed when I played it on PS2 though. Despite all the above, I'm loving it!

Stick with it Stripy, you'll get there! My 7 year old got to that part today and after a lot of failed attempts asked me to have a go, and I did it first time!
He thinks his mummy is a cool gamer now lol. I'm on my second visit to Planet Orxon now, as I have the O2 mask and can go outside with Ratchet. I've been backtracking to get all the missing gold bolts so far. I'd like to say I'll have a play tonight but now my 14 year old has nicked it. ![]() It really is a brilliant game, even my 16 yr old daughter who 'doesn't do games' has been playing on it, which is great for them but not so good for me as I can't get near it half the time!!

As i predicted yesterday there would be a part that would start to piss me off and that part has come, Blackwater City first we have a hover race which unless you do pretty much perfectly you will lose (i say pretty much prefectly as i still need a shave on 5 seconds to get a trophy) and secondly straight afterwards is a part where water chases you and it is annoying as unless you are inch perfect with every jump you will die
Please tell me this is the only planet will stupidly annoying parts |

I've only played the PS3 R&C games. Would playing this feel like a major step backwards compared to the PS3 games?

I was just enjoying having finally done it, when my cat came in with a giant moth. That kind of ruined my pleasure lolol. I did Clank outside on that planet, but have just reached Pokitaru (then I quit for the night). The little bots are sooo cute. Ah, this is where living alone is good, I get to play R&C all to myself. I hope you can reclaim your disc soon! ![]() OMTT - I personally feel these games are more enjoyable than the PS3 ones, but they don't look as good, of course. |

The only thing that may slightly jar with you is the lack of a strafe option in the first game. |

shouldn't have looked here![]() Asda delivery people (Hermes NRF) said they delivered it on the 27th but they didn't. Its either gone to a wrong address (and no-one brought it back here) or the driver nicked it ![]() Now they are out of stock. (and put the price up from £21 to £26) Got refunded, but gutted

Two quick questions
1) I just got the o2 mask, how far through the game i am? 2) Do the sequels shift in the tone the same way the Jak and Daxter triliogy do? |

Not sure on 1) but I can assure you that you do not get the drastic tonal shift that the Jak and Daxter trilogy has.
There is an increase in emphasis on combat but the style and balance remains perfect, to me anyway. The addition of strafe is really welcome though. |

franchise burnout -
That does happen with these collections. I still have Sly 3 to play through. I played 1&2 back to back, but am still to return to the third. I will probably take a break between 2 and 3 with this one as well (although I am going to be trying the online mode in 3 over the weekend). I do hope to have them all completed and platinumed in time for the release of Q-Force though. Good year for the Ratchet fans

I've reclaimed my game and have racked up about 19 hours so far, I'm on Planet Kalebo III so only 2 more planets after that and it's job done. Got all the gold bolts so far, but need to go back for the skill points. Had a frustrating TWO HOURS on one objective on Planet Oltanis today, not quite as bad as the water run but the air was rather blue and things were in danger of being thrown! ![]()

![]() Glad you've managed to get your game back! I haven't been able to play over the weekend, but plan to do so tonight. Omg, I HATE Planet Oltanis! I spent ages there and could not do the bit where you have to get past loads of spaceships and then grapple swing onto the moving boat things. I got to the the bit where you use the swingshot thingy, but kept falling to my death. Going to reattempt it tonight. Right now though, I'm at Planet Kalebo III too. I was last trying to win that hoverboard race. But I did get angry as it's hard (for me, anyway!). I think I've missed quite a few gold bolts. I have seen at least 2 I haven't got. Not sure how I'm doing with skill points. |

I'm on the last Boss of the first game so i'll give my review now...
Wow just wow, there is a good game in there somewhere but there is so much shit surrounding it you have to look really really hard For every plus such as the banter between ratchet and clank, the awesome weapons, there are bad points that are so much worse, the cheap deaths, the incredibly bad (possibly the worst i've ever seen in a game) checkpoint system, why on earth would i want to replay the same 10-20 minute section 50 times just because the game keeps cheating me out of the last jump I could maybe forgive some the bad things but this is a remake which means they have made the same mistakes twice now and that is unforgivable Like i said at the start there are elements that i enjoy and if the sequels improve upon the bad points the collection will still be worth it |

I'm on the last planet now, not played for a few days and off on holiday tomorrow so thought I'd try and get it finished. Erm, no. Not having much luck at the moment, I have got every gold bolt apart from the last 3 on the last planet which I haven't got to yet, but I think I'll leave it til I get back from my hols!
I do agree about the check points, some are so frustrating and you end up doing the same part over and over and over again.. But that's just the way the game is, and the ecstatic feeling when you finally finish the bit you're stuck on is great!! |

Finished the first one yesterday. The last boss did my nut in mainly due to the fact that if you died you got sent right back to the start of the fight which was really irritating.
That is really the only negative thing I have to say about the first game. The lack of strafe didn't really bother me but the checkpoints certainly did. |

Failed to defeat Chairman Drek 3 times. For me, this was by far the hardest final boss battle from any of the R&C games I've played.
Yes it is irritatiing to have to go right back to the beginning, with all that swingshot business first. Grrr. |

Yay I beat Drek. The key for me was going and getting the bolts to be able to buy the awesome Tesla Claw.
