So ive finally got round to upgrading (htc sensation xe if anyone is interested) and asked to change my contract to the £36 per month full monty.

The woman on the phone was ok, but didnt seem that knoweledgeable - so i said to her is the unlimited internet truly unlimited and she said yes, she also confirmed it also relates to tethering.

Im still a bit wary though..,.can anyone here confirm that it is really unlimited. im not a heavy user, but will probably use it more than my laptop which is a bit old and i dont want to get a new one - perhaps 3gb max a month?

No it is not. It specifically says Unlimited Internet (Including tethering and VOIP)

They used to block the SIP ports, has this stopped now then?

Skype is not technically VOIP, so should still work regardless of whether VOIP is actually blocked (which as far as I know it isn't).

There are no restrictions on The Full Monty plan - all ports should be open and free to use.

It is capped for some! My partner got the Full Monty a week ago and it never gets above 3.8.

Once again I refer to my argument on a different thread - what do you need to use on your phone that requires that kind of speed? I can happily stream Sky Go on my iPad at 1.8MBit with excellent picture quality......

The comment made by you and Lord Lucan was customers are not capped. They are. There was no comment about need of more speed.

I don't think any cap on your account is intentional...

So you think me being stuck on 1.9Mbps for two years and when everyone was kicking off about the Full Monty, I suddenly go up to 3.8, but am capped again, is not intentional?
And my partner getting a new contract (Full Monty) being capped at 3.8 is not intentional either?
Their Twitter team can go on and on about it being down to circumstances (before I was fobbed off with them saying 1-2Mbps is normal speed when I was capped at 1.9), but if I can't get more than 3.8 on a Samsung Galaxy S II (just mentioning it to show that the phone is not the problem) with the phone showing H+, no matter when or where, I always hit that wall at 3.8, there is some kind of cap in place! I don't get 3.9, not 4.0, it's always up to 3.8.

I'm not in a position to comment officially as I deal with more of the Orange side of the business. However, for what it's worth, I'm looking forward to getting my new phone on The Full Monty next week (iPhone 4S) and will be more than happy with 3.8MBit if that's the highest it goes, because quite frankly that's more speed than I'll need on a mobile phone.

I have noticed you like to play the "no need for more speed" card. I have pointed it out on a different thread, I will here again: I don't like them lying about it. It doesn't matter if I need more speed or not. I honestly appreciate your contribution to this forum, but you can't excuse everything with 1.8Mbps is enough for streaming.

I do happen to agree with denyo1977... Whether the speed is needed or not its the fact that T-Mobile are capping everyone in the first place, and lying about it! They also said it was a mistake! As denyo said I do appreciate your contribution but it's still not right they are lying to their p[aying customers. Also you say you don't need the speed but everyone's uses are different, 1.8 isnt good for downloading because I used to be capped at that and the fact they are capping the upload at about half a meg is not good at all. If Orange can give speeds of like 7meg why can't T-Mobile.
