Does anyone know if there will be a BB5 DVD release? Its usually out by now and I even contact CH4 direct to see what the situation was by email and got a 'deleted not read' return!

Wonder if the 'fight scene' is causing them legal problems etc..

i think it is the fight night. until its sorted then they will release it as if they do know, it might cause more fights with the housemates. this being that they might show stuff than represents a housmate bad when they were not

It won't happen before the Christmas period begins for sure, and to be honest once theyve missed that window, there's very little point in ever trying to release it because people's focus will be shifted elsewhere. Fr example, I'm a Celebrity begins again soon and BB5 will fade even further into distant memory.

Yup, and then we have BB6 on the way shortly after that.
So this is now looking like the only BB show that didnt go onto DVD - ever!

Either share the story with us so we understand the point you're trying to make or go away. Please.

I've got every DVD release of the show - and they are fascinating to watch because of the changes in style and format of the show and the way the contestants themselves have 'grown' with each year - in that from BB3 onwards they came in with expectations and pre-planned presentation concepts for the audience to 'hook into'...

All human life is here - from its highs to its lows - agreed, in a 'condensed format' but its still valid and worthy.

(that was for the Elvis message - by the way)

...yeah same here.
They've got a great big 'contact us' thing on the CH4 BB site - with 'we love to hear from you' all over it.

I got a 'deleted not read' back after about three weeks. Not a good way to maintain customer relations is it really?

Jon Tickle - u still on Digital spy? What goes on with BB5 DVD??

You know, the bods at C4/Endemol must be seriously worried about the impact of showing what happened on fight night if they are prepared to forgo the potential profit from the sales of their dvd. Wonder if any of the cameramen on the night could be bribed to tell us why...??

There's defo a story brewing here - no matter which way you look at it.

BB5 was one of the most succesful - surely they wouldnt dare miss the Christmas market for the DVD for this show. Like you say - all that money down the drain - for a company dependant on advertisers, viewing figures and sales of its programmes, this really doesnt make sense.

and on top of that - they wont answer enquiries about it either.

Most strange.

maybe

it's worth more to C4 to charge folks £4.99/month to see clips of it on their website.

There is a simple answer - omit fight night. They took the cameras off the HM, just like they usually do when recording for the DVD, for ages during mud wrsetling. jam tasting and umpteen other times too. They clearly have enough for a DVD with extended clips of at least 2-3 scenes without fight night so why on earth doesn't someone have the gumption to take a decision and get on with it. No wonder C4 is losing money.

Yeah - thenetworkbabe = delete as much as u like CH4, but get it released - there are people like me with disposable cash waiting to purchase it.

I've always thought the same ..

Could it be the legal mess that must have been created during bb5 somehow has gone further than day 20 .. It's just as has been said - why can't a dvd have been released without mention of day 20 ..

and if endemol - expecting poor dvd sales this year .. sold all bb5 dvd access to The Sun .. then why have The Sun not took full advantage and released the full length bb5 dvd themselves (instead of the free bb5 dvd offered to their readers ..)

It all points to a legal mess..with the viewers and endemol losing out.

50 minutes long. Not bad (well, as it's all we're likely to get, I was grateful for anything). No Fight Night.

They're selling for not a lot on Ebay.
