Alex won't get #1 with Elephant her airplay is far too low at this point but she has top 3 on lock. With Nicki's song is already #2 on iTunes without a vid show how strong her fanbase is becoming here so she is likely to get to #1 at some point. Also Nicki is releasing her video for the song in the next 2 weeks and has promo coming here. I heard a rumour on Twitter that she is on Jonathan Ross.

I like Alexandra but I personally think the song is a pretty weak one for her first release in 15 months.

I agree with this.
I'm hoping she'll still get to no.1 though, just to spite Radio 1 really! She's a lovely person and deserves every success.
Unless it gets a lot more radio play soon it won't make the top 5 and will probably only scrape the top 10.
It reached as far as 83 on uk itunes based solely on pre-orders. So It'll definitely reach top 3, the thing with us is we should never underestimate the beasties, they are promoting so hard right now. And I have a strong feeling that it could just about snatch that number 1 , as many people have said it is her first proper release in 15 months so I do think it could sell well.

at the moment i would say it could go either way with the single.

I've heard this a few times now and it just doesn't do it for me. The verses are hot but lead up to a disappointing chorus. I like Alex, and look forward to her next single. Nicki's Starships is getting Radio1 support and has far superior production, IMO. Some of RedOne's best work since the early Gaga days.

Nicki is already down to 3 on itunes, maybe with a video it can get to #1, but i doubt it'll be next week
