This

Every week you expect that the show will be on for about 1 hour 20 minutes and then you end up getting a shock when you see that it's on for 2 hours again

And they end up being the longest 2 hours of your life

I always PVR the shows - started watching at 9pm and finished with the skate-off just before 10pm.
I never watch ad channels live these days - either PVR or catch up online with adblock.

You sometimes wonder why the ad men spend so much on advertising. My life's aim is to try never to watch or listen to them.

It's getting ridiculous. Last night's show was on for far too long and the ads were ridiculous. I don't think I'll be watching next year if it's like this. I'm only really following it because the rest of my family are. I personally can take it or leave it.

I usually start watching around 6.50pm, which skips the introductory rubbish and the first ad break. If I've missed the first person skating (and it's rare that I have) then I'll watch it on the catch up. I'm normally doing something else while dancing on ice is on, like playing the wii, so I can miss the ad breaks and VTs.
