Spot on, Jennifer often gets a early spot and it makes a change not to this week. I think that she has improve so much and I have been so fed up with Chemmy getting over marked most weeks and Jennifer not getting marked high enough. It is so obvious that both Robin and the German woman judge both favour Chemmy, mainly because she has been an olympic skier!
Would love to see Jennifer stay in longer than Chemmy! I don't think Robin or Katarina are favouring Chemmy because she's an olympic skier ... if they were then Katarina wouldn't have said what she said to her about her not being able to do lifts a couple of weeks ago ... personally I think that Chemmy is the best "basic" skater of the girls .. she's strong and precise in her footwork (something pointed out by Robin tonight) ... she may not have the showmanship and grace that the two trained dancers Jen and Jorgie have but on skating ability she's worthy of the marks she got tonight I thought the marks were pretty spot on tonight .. Jen deserved hers as she's improved vastly in her skating and to me Jorgie is pretty stagnant going on actual skating ability, she's a bit sloppy and lacks the technicality with the basic skating .. but she is very good at the tricks and lifts |

I don't mind Jen tbh but I am sick of the fake crying routine she does & sympathy hunting, It's very tedious now, She is an actress & dancer she needs to shut up & get on with the skating....Bit like she did lastnight..

This was Jennifer's best performance yet, and the only one this year that I have bothered to put on YouTube. Although her skating is not the best, her wide acting experience, obvious ballet training and enchanting personality have combined to produce a masterpiece of ballet on ice. I think John Curry would have been impressed!

I've not posted in this forum before but popped in to see what people were saying about last night's show. I really liked Jennifer's performance but what I thought was really telling was her reaction to being chosen first for the team routine. She said something later about 'and by Jorgie!' with such awe in her voice, it seems that she really thinks that Jorgie is out of her league (and it wasn't faked awe either, she's not that good an actress) and she was thrilled that someone like that would choose her over the others. She tried to help Chemmy with the dance moves too, even though it was a lost cause.
I think she is just beginning to have some confidence in what she's doing and she's realling blooming. Chemmy to go next please. Really can't abide that woman, and the only reason she's lasted this long is Robin Cousins' determination to get her through the dance offs. Last edited by Wiskas : 05-03-2012 at 11:02. It'll be interesting now the weaker skaters are all gone - I think everyone will need to up their game |

and when she was in the "bottom 3" skate off where they all had to skate an individual skills routine and two of them were eliminated she did the best solo skate (it was unfortunate for Seb that he blanked completely so the judges had no option but to eliminate him, if he'd completed the routine it would have been very close between him and Chemmy and he may have been saved over her) and again all three judges chose her to stay I appreciate that you don't like her (I don't mind her but at times her "confidence" can come across as a bit too much) ... but let's get real, when it comes down to the actual skate off's she's done clean and competent skates compared to who she was skating off against |

Yes, and deservedly so, because she shouldn't have been there! If it was about skill she wouldn't have been in those skate-offs.

I know but the way a lot of people on here are going on you'd think Chemmy had been saved over Matt, Jorgie & Chico not the likes of Rosemary, Heidi & Andy.

I was very impressed with the progress Jen made in the last couple of weeks. Her marks are going up quite deservedly faster than anyone else, so who knows what she'll achieve next week.
A couple of weeks ago and she'd have looked dreadful compared with Chemmy and Jorgie in the group number, but she held her own no problem. On the other hand, Andy was obviously a weaker skater, weaker dancer, and weaker performer than Matthew and Chico, so it drew attention to the fact he deserved to go, and she was entitled to her place in the final 6. |

My post in relation to Robin Cousins and his determination to keep Chemmy in the competition related to his comment in the live show a couple of weeks ago about keeping her in. ETA : Quote:

ETA : I'm sure this was the programme when he made the comment. I'll see if I can find it. like myself and others have pointed out, she has obviously got through the skateoffs on merit as the people she's been in the skateoffs with were Rosemary and Andy and even her biggest detractor must be able to see she's a better skater than both of them (especially if you know anything about the technicalities of skating) .. plus all three judges put her through not just Robin so they must have thought she was better The only person I would say "could" have stayed in over her in the skateoff situation was Seb but unfortunately he signed his own fate when he forgot the solo skills routine that the skateoff was to be judged on ..... the other person, Heidi was also a worse skater than Chemmy so deserved to go perhaps you hoping Chemmy goes has more to do with you not being able to "abide" her rather than one of the judges apparently deliberately keeping her in past her time? ...lol |

This thread is to comment on Jennifer's performance so I'll stick to Jen. The lovely lady found and maintained her confidence and what an absolute treat to see what she can do when she believes in herself.
She said earlier in the series that when training up north at her local rink she was fine and could do everything asked of her, but nerves overtook when it matters. She proved last night they were not empty words I felt her marks were about right. Robin could have given an extra 0.5 but that 9 from Louie was well deserved. The solo skating was excellent and the interpretation and artistry was spell binding. |

I totally agree with everything in the previous post. When I first saw Jennifer she was in that cookery competition - "So You Think You Can Cook" I think it was called (and which she won, incidentally). She was shouting at Edwina Currie (a former Cabinet Minister) to get a move on, and I thought it was hilarious. I don't think she could ever be false or put on an act.
She is a many-sided character, sometimes a chirpy "Liver Bird", sometimes highly emotional. She has an awesome CV as can be seen in her Wikipedia article - soap star, highly trained ballet dancer, film actress (The Phantom of the Opera), "Chicago" star, pop singer, model, the list goes on and on. I know she isn't going to win this competition, but I hope she makes the final and adds yet another string to her bow. |

I know it isn't going to happen, but I would like to see Jennifer continuing to work at her skating after the show is finished for this year. After a few years she could combine ballet with skating and be another Belita.

I wonder how many marks Louis gives her!!!! |

Oh see the Jennifer and Dan haters have reappeared like Jorgie actually displayed any real skill tonight I don't think so. Again I guess you were watching an entirely different show again to the rest of us as I saw Jennifer skating on her own and she had multiple props to contend with unlike having a single pretty ribbon to wave about.
Really glad to see Jorgie at the bottom of the leaderboard and really hope Jennifer makes it through tonight. As for the Dan hate yet again what had the poor bloke done to you that seems to inspire such venom against him. I am not exactly a huge Matt fan but I don't deride him at every opportunity although maybe that might not be such a bad idea given some of the posts on this forum at times. |

T&D's choreography tonight was awful .. I thought that whilst Jen's routine was well acted, skating wise it contained hardly any which makes me feel her's was the worst routine of the night (as I like to see skating skills, even with props)
I've never been a fan of Jen's but I really enjoyed her performance last week and it showed a huge improvement in her skating which was totally wasted on this weeks routine I think that both Jen and Chico were let down by their choreography this week as skating wise they are both capable of a lot more |

Is someone that I used to really admire, but - not anymore how annoying is she with her acting like she's so humble blah de blah. Can't be doing with her!
