3 x 9.5 for Matthew
petertard

Would have been happier with 3 x 9.0 = 27.0 for him. He beat Jorgie tonight but not by such a margin.

Now let's vote to keep him out of the skate off

100% agree, well apart from beating jorgie.. his performane tonight was about equal to jorgies and i think she was undermarked .. think they both deserved 27 imo

But Matt does so much more than Jorgie skating wise. Both Robyn and Katerina remarked on what a range of skating skills he has.

I thought he was clearly the best tonight, and Jorgie was lucky to finish second (before the twist).

I like Matt and his routine was good but 9.5? No way.
Hello.

He was a lot better than Jorgie. I think he's well ahead in the competition now, while the other girls are definitely catching up with Jorgie. Chico seems to have peaked (imo) and Andy wont get much better.

He's competent but he just doesn't excite me. Ray Quinn excited me, Chris Fountain excited me and Jorgie Porter excites me.

That said, I'm totally going off this series. I think it's time DOI ended. Seen it all before now.

Honestly I thought the same, but I enjoyed his performance tonight.

Missing Sam though As a whole haven't quite been excited by the show much.

I completely agree with your comments. While Jorgie seems to be able to convey the emotion required and she has lots of lifts, Matthew's skating skills seem to be so much better. She reminds me a bit of Bonnie Langford. While her performances are often spectacular the amount of actual skating she does is much less than Matthew.

Hence Matthew has to win this...it's Dancing on Ice....not Lifting on Ice!!

I thought Chico and Chemmy were stronger than Jorgie tonight. I actually think Jen is starting to catch up, she skated more than Jorgie did.

Matthew is just a whole different level to the rest, his performance was brilliant.

Matthew's skating is way way above the rest now. Jorgie does very little compared to him and is way behind now.

Thats the sales hype they presented. Matthew does a lot but still does less dance moves than Jorgie, he's got less musicality and his acting is wooden by comparison. He just can't do the lifts Matt/Jorgie can do and his problem is he can't match that by doing the spins and jumps a Chris or Ray could do to match the girl's lifts. They have been changing the lead between Mathew and Jorgie for weeks to try and suggest a competition and throwing Chico and now Chemmy into the mix - there's no real shifts going on there - the alternative would be a predictable winner.

Jennifer is flowing better and looking artistic, but she's not actually doing much thats difficult, or that the top females can do. Chemmy is getting marks for her feet, but she still can't lift much, dance much, or act much.Look at her platter lift compared to the one Jorgie threw in in passing in the group routine. Chemmy's big move was an after thought for Jorgie - not her fault but she's just not the right build or with the right partner to deal with the issue. The only reason their marks got that near to Jorgie is that Jorgie's routine was being marked compared to last weeks when it was a duller, less full piece of choregraphy, and theirs were being marked up as they did a bit more than last week. They also had a marking up process going on generally below Jorgie as they gave Andy over 20 to dilute his vote, but they then had to make the point that everyone else was better.

I think Matthew fully deserved his scores - Jorgie's routine was dull tonight.

Thats very possibly because it was his turn to get the marking lead this week, and she was always going to be top after the team competition anyway - even if she used no big moves up this week. They just don't have enough moves to fill every week up. She did lots of steps and skating, but it looked better when they showed it on the VT than it did when the odd show camera angles had finished with it. That might have been a 9.5 for Matt in relation to Chicos marks, or Sam's last year- but there wasn't much there by past standards of a 9.5. Louie seems to be marking on looks, and Robin on the feet we never see, no one seems to be really marking the bigger picture.
