Tesco, Asda and now Morrisons all do 18gm crisps at 68p for 12 packs

tesco's used to be 48p, but there is a cartel operating.

Morrison's are new, and I think their's taste the best.

6p/bag is just right for a quick snack.

People prefer the flavouring and texture of other brands.

Because to some of us they taste cheap and nasty. I like McCoy's.

I have to say that Chipsticks is the almighty crisp type product (side question, do you consider Chipsticks a true crisp?). At the moment Asda are doing 3 packs of 8 for 3.50, so 24 packs of the the blooming amazing Chipsticks is the very definition of bargain in my eyes.

Asda smartprice are pretty good although less so since they switched from using Palm oil to Sunflower oil.

Chipsticks are a very good crisp type snack, but, in my eyes, do not come up to the standard set by French Fries. I also used to like Monster Munch, but now they make me cough.

However, I am not sure whether either of them could be considered a true crisp.

I love french fries but they make my mouth and lips itch like crazy.

I do eat them sometimes but worry i will have a bad reaction to them.

I find French Fries a bit too crunchy and the thin-crunchy-ness of it just doesnt settle with me. After a pack I tend to be left very unsatisfied, but each to their own and all that jazz. However, after a pack of Chipsticks, I am very satisfied and just need another pack, 4 or 5 packs could easy make do instead of a meal for me (I dont have a big appetite). While I dont think they are a true crisp, I think crisp is the closest to what it is. I just dont like the term 'maize snack'.

I think the thin-crunchy-ness of French Fries is what does it for me. Although, Chipsticks are better than FFs when you add them to an egg mayo or plain cheese sandwich. Although, in that situation, Frazzles do a pretty good job too.

I'm so with you on the whole 'maize snack' thing - awful phrase *shudder*

Where you you stand on Wotsits?

I would say that Wotsits are closer to crisp to then Chipsticks, but not there still. But there are so damn nice, makes regular Ready salted crisps about as appealing as the runs. I only find Ready salted appealing if Im drunk and feeling peckish. And all this talk of crisps is making me peckish, and guess all that is in the house... ready bloody salted! I really dont get the appeal tbh.

Tesco cheap crisps are disgusting. The salt and vinegar just stinks of malt.

To be honest for the money they are not bad, a six pack of Walkers will cost over a quid.

I'm not a huge lover of crisps but, just out of curiosity, I bought a tube of Aldi's version of Pringles a couple of weeks ago. Sour cream and onion Stackers I think they were called. They were quite acceptable and only 89p

The Asda smartprice snacks multipacks of cheese curls/onion rings/salt & vinegar sticks are not bad at all.

McCoy's are proper crisps. Not like those weak, paper thin Walkers.

Hahaha oh my good god you're right!! 84! Never thought of it like that

Still tbh you cant just eat one bag at a time, 2 at the least! So halve that - 42..... should last me at least 2 weeks!!

Do they still do transformer snacks? I ground many of those men/wheels into powder trying to fit the wheels on. I did make a few complete ones but they usually ended up being crippled three wheelers.
