Samsung Smart tv-Camera
I thought that I would like to use Skype via my Samsung Smart tv..model UE46D7000lu. I cannot use a basic USB type camera for this having tried a few various types. Having looked at the Samsung website, it appears that they only have one type that works and the cost is over £130. Other sites that I have looked at, all appear to have similar prices. Can anyone offer an alternative to using this Samsung Camera, reasonably priced and actually works!

I suspect they have got you by the proverbials. The telly is probably designed to talk to only this specific type of camera and cannot be modified (easily) to accept other types. So it might be a long search for a totally compatible alternative.
That is the problem with using a TV for all these fancy functions. Unlike a PC you get little choice in what hardware you can use with it. And that suits the TV makers because they can charge an arm and a leg for the bits. |

Thanks for that reply...These things they do omit in their sales brochures.
