He actually DOES play the guitar live on the show (he confirmed it in an Irish radio interview last week) and is quite proud of the fact.Almost certainly a first for one of these talent shows (though 2 To Go got in on the act on Saturday as well).

Tabby reminds me far too much of Ainslie in Fame Academy 1 and Peter in Fame Academy 2. Both these artists were very favoured by the judges and the public at the beginning of the contests, but by the second or third week to the end we were bored of them.

Where does Tabby fit in on the music scene? He will not be taken seriously by rock or indie musicians, Simon said on GMTV this morning he is a credible musician and by appearing on X factor he is just cutting the living in the back of a van part out - not sure other musicians who have lived in the back of vans on their way to success will view it like that. Or will he be aiming for the Busted/McFly market, or is he too old for that? (sad to be too old at 24, but it's a fact) which by having the children on stage with him looks likely. I like Tabby, but I can't see him winning this competition, his style is too ambiguous to be taken seriously

Yeah he seems to say a lot of thing then contradict himself. He's always been into music he hasn't done anything else he lives out of the back of his van as a struggling artist, and also he's been in a band for the last 2 years (ok what has he been doing since 18-21) and lives with his parents.

Hi ZipGypsy, maybe I have found the right thread to talk to you about Tabby!

I really enjoyed the xmas TOTP - small children - scarf waving extravaganza of Tabby's performance in Saturday's show. I watched open mouthed as something that when described sounds like it should be SO wrong was in fact oh so right.

But what now? What can the guy do to keep our interest. I worry that forever people will be saying - "ah, not as good as week 2".

I think he needs to do Bowie now. We've had jangly 60s tunes for mum and dad, an audatious Slade performance which rightly should have only worked if he'd won the damn competition. Now we need Ziggy Stardust - I want a space suit with wires attatched to the back to hoist tabby away at the end of 'starman'. Picture it. You know it works. You know he can pull it off!!

I really think he is! He's someone I can see growing with the competition and he definitely has charisma by the bucketload! At first I thought he seemed a bit pri-madonna-ish, but after seeing him on the xtra factor, I actually think he's quite funny, dare I say charming?! Lol! Rock on Tabby! He's def one of my fave contestants at the moment and I can see him growing on me even more! He's not quite as sexy as Steve though! hehe! But go Tabby anyway! hehe!

Aaah - this is great. So many people tuning in to Tabby's talents - Although I realised what he had quite early on, reading some of the comments on here at the time, I was sure I was going to be one of only a couple of voices in the wilderness (hi Kewpee!) trying to persuade others to give him a go. However, seems like the lad does have that special something - think it might be called the X-Factor....

Wow! Something like that song....don't know the title....the one that goes 'this is ground control to major Tom...'...I think that could be a really good song for Tabby actually, not too sure about the spacesuit though!

Yes, I think Tabby is amazing. He is HOT! His voice is magestic...and he seems really into what he sings. Last week we saw "fun Tabby", and on the second live show we saw the more sensitive side to Tabby. He was fantastic! I'd definitely spend good money on him when he WINS!

Have to disagree with you there - to me, Steve looks the type that thinks he'd be really good in bed, but would probably be a big let down.
