Just can't get excited about it any more. I would like to make excuses for it, because I have looked forward toward it during the past few years, but I don’t think there is much anyone can do to make the show any more appealing, at least not to this viewer, It’s had its time. (It has never been as good a programme concept as Strictly anyway). Programmes sometime have a sell by date ; the XFiles and Noels’ House Party being two that were clearly losing their appeal towards the end.

We have see the same old routines time and time again and Bolero has got boring, although it always was in my opinion. The skating is quite good this year and the personalities interesting. The judging panel are also good but even that all those things can’t make it worth watching. Also, even if it was still exciting viewers the proliferation of adverts would kill it anyway.

Get this series over and done with and then bin it. (And the XFactor, also past its sell by date)

3 years ago the year chris hollins won strictly, it was in the pits and it felt much like DOI does now, but they turned it around, so its possible doi could do the same, but its unlikely in my opinion
I actually thought that series of SCD was one of the best yet it has got better over the last couple of years.

DOI is extremely hard to watch, having 6 routines lasting no more than 2 minutes each spread over two hours last week was unbearable.

Last night's was much better, but do they really need to have a musical guest on the results show ?

I think the advert breaks are the main reason it's hemorrhaging viewers for the live tv shows this year. Have they changed the rules on the amount of time per hour allowed for ads ?..they are certainly more noticable this year.
I can no longer bear to watch it live, about 10 minutes of actual skating in a programme lasting 75 minutes (and that was cut-down from the previous week) is just tedious.
Dancing On Ice is also failing to capture any big-name celebs, SCD always manages to have a few household names..even if they are pretty dire to watch.

I no longer watch SCD from the start. In fact I find I scud through most of it and I'm fed up with it, as it's too much faffing ahhh-bout (as Len would say) and not enough dancing. Added to that, I find said Len, a bit too annoying.

As for DOI, I do watch it all, but a recorded version, so I can wizz through the ads, through the chit-chat, the singers etc.

I like seeing the unknowns (to me, anyway as I don't watch soaps) so that's okay.

It's the skating I watch for as an ex-skater.

I love the panel now.

Just the format needs a change. I'm in agreement with Lorelei Lee, cunning plan, get yourself to ITV NOW

The main reason is because the public are growing tired of these talent shows. They've all been getting lower ratings for the past year or so (XF, BGT, Strictly, Let's Dance etc.).

Who was the musical guest on Sunday's results show?

It died early on in the series and is just waiting for burial. I would put money on it not coming back next year.
I won't be shedding any tears if it doesn't come back next year. The show has had its day now. Either the format needs to be changed or it needs to be axed.

Agreed. There are far too many of these talent shows. I like BGT though because of the variety in it and the fact that members of the general public audition rather than celebs.
