They love doing that. It's weird, the UK is the only country where GAL bombed completely. I liked it. I dislike how Capital and R1 (and partly R2) have a stranglehold on the UK singles chart. It's very very scary IMO. I'd prefer us to have a US radio system (ie lots of little stations).

It seems like she's aiming for the big sales, which is the album of course. Her tour is starting really soon isn't it! It surprised me she's only doing one date here.

i would go to the o2 arena again for sure and i have seen her at wembley. however, hyde park is not ideal for me. i am hoping she adds another date perhaps or maybe a second leg again. i hope you enjoy your concert though.

Can we all stop the drama now? Because it's become quite tedious... - It's the third thread where I keep reading the same posts whining about the lack promotion of the album, how her singles are flopping all over the place, about why she's not doing such or such radio/TV appearance and so on!? At first it was interesting but now it is a tad reductive...This era is very unusual for a Madonna album so far but it has just started and who knows what she's got in store for us once the album is released? Can we just get over it then and stop acting like this era is a complete disaster?

Oseary has said "we are stil going to do things...just not a traditional Promo Tour"

Intriguing! I think maybe something like magazines (Rolling Stone, Q and the like would be immense) selected TV spots perhaps (Wossy and Ellen would be great for US and UK ) and do it like that.

In other news....Radio 1 are listening to MDNA tonight Aled just said! i wouldnt say they are shunning her! Well not the album anyway....but they did the same happened for Beyonce 4 i think and Best Thing I Never Had was playlisted...and Florence with Ceremonials had a radio listening party

I partially agree but, to be fair, Radio 2 played GMAYL a fair bit in the past few weeks. Also, I'm on jury service at the moment and when I was in the waiting room yesterday, someone turned on the TV and one of the music channels was blasting it out!!

On a side note, my OH who listens to Radio 2 at work said today that they've apparently named 'Masterpiece' their 'Single Of The Week' WTF is going on with this magnificent song? Is it a single or not?? I don't understand how it can be on the radio if it isn't a single, and yet I've seen no evidence whatsoever that it's been 'released' as such. Aaargh!

Yes it's played this week everyday on Ken Bruce and Alex Lester's show. I heard it a couple of times on Alex Lester's at night. Apparently it's getting a release on April 2nd. It's very confusing considering the second official single is GGW but it is still a good thing as the album is being promoted that way. And it could even be part of their playlist which would help reaching the audience she can't reached on R1.

It's a UK only release. The song has been well recieved here so is receiving exclusive UK release.

i wonder if she will do a video for `masterpiece`. its quite odd that its being released as a single early next month, does that mean we wont get `girls gone wild and `masterpiece` will be the second single?

So Masterpeice will have a UK only release? hmmmmm. Which may be alongside Wild too then.

Very interesting. Anyway so pleased with the positive vibes and reviews thus far....just need to hear the album on blast in full soon I cannot wait. I love how so many have said it really is a dark/intense album in vibe as well as euphoric and happy....aaaah and retro/60s throwbacks too...I just cannot wait

But yeah as i said in another thread will repeat and repeat and in a couple weeks will really have my mind made up on the overall album and where to place it etc etc and it will just grow with time Love how reviewers are saying the album is also ranking amongst her best with the material too so WAAAAAY!

Just a bit baffled that with all the positive reviews...some are still saying it is all "doom and gloom???" WTF??? the reviews are positive and it is freakin Madonna guys! Enjoy, embrace it damn it!

I haven't seen any reviews comparing it to her best work, and considering what we've heard so far, I think that's a mighty leap to take. Of the three or four bits I've heard, I'd say it's hitting Hard Candy levels - there'll be 3 or 4 good tracks, but the bad ones will be immensely bad (hello, Dance2Nite) which is a shame as Hard Candy didn't do too great, it'd be ace for her to come back with something fantastic. In my opinion, this album isn't going to be it.

That's true, none of the reviews are comparing it to her best work but they are very encouraging and seem to be more genuinely positive than for Hard candy. They all seem to agree that MDNA is no instant classic and it needs quite a few listens to get into because unlike what GMAYL &GGW may suggest it is not straight-forward of an album. At least that's how I read them and it really gives me a good feeling about MDNA. And you're right, MDNA is not a comeback album as such but what I get from the reviews is it never intended to be.
And HC should be given more credits. It's a good album with some brilliant moments. To me, Dance2night is a great track, recapturing the funk/disco sound of the late 70's

I've read Masterpiece is now Radio 2's single of the week. So I am too confused about what is going on.

It's going to be released here on April 2nd. It's a UK only release (look up for Wizzywick's post)

Here's what's happening in the UK with regards to music releases, just to clarify any confusion:

Mon March 19th: Physical CD release of Give Me All Your Luvin'

Mon March 19th: e-Single (downloads): Girl Gone Wild

Mon March 26th: Album MDNA

Mon April 2nd: Single release: Masterpiece (Not sure at this stage if Masterpiece is for downloads only, but a physical release is likely!)

Hope this helps.

right well i will buy the cd single, a good idea. although, a better idea would have been to have released it about 2 weeks ago. hopefully the video for `girl gone wild` will be in place by then and it will secure her another top 40 hit. `masterpiece` might be a surprise hit, who knows. thanks for clearly all this up though.
