If the media are right, and the two shows launch on the same night/time which show do u think will win!?

will it be the newbie. fresh, and intriguing talent show The Voice?

Advantages: Jessie J, Will.i.am, Tom Jones, Holly W, no adverts

disadvantage - A lot of people will not have of heard of/know of what The Voice is.

or the old timer variety, fun, new judges

advantages - simon cowell, david walliams, variety acts

disadvantage - lackluster year last yr, people might be bored as it's the 6th season, adverts (people may record bgt and watch the voice instead)

I think BGT beat the Voice in the ratings but will be close. One thing though i don't think Will.i.am is an advantage to the show. I was really looking forward to the voice but now he is a coach i'm not.

I can't see how the show can be called the Voice when he is autotuned.

Are people not sick to death of Cowell and BGT?

I'm guessing BGT will...

However hopefully The Voice will
It's Jon...

I think the Voice will win due tohaving no adverts and people being intrigued to see what its like, people will either not bother with BGT or will tape it and watch it later to fast forward through the adverts and crap filler.

If your 'sick to death of Cowell and BGT' then why are you on this board?

Are you not allowed opinions?

For the first show, I'd like The Voice to win but it will be difficult because BGT is an already established show. Maybe as the weeks go by, TV will overtake BGT.

I think people are fed up of Britain's Got Talent and Simon Cowell. People always show interest at new programmes, especially a programme that has had as much hype as the Voice.

I would say the Voice will win the ratings battle, but it can't disappoint as I can see people flocking back like sheep to Britain's Got Talent then.

I am really hoping The Voice trounces them.

But I aim to watch both series and get excited as possible anyway.

I see the opinion police are out in force again. What a bore

According to Holden, you shouldn't watch The Voice because Tom Jones will be dead by next week.

I like the concept of The Voice, but am not impressed with the judges. One is way before my time and the others are way after my time. If you're over 30 and under 60 (which is the majority of Sat night viewers, considering many young'uns go out), there's little attraction there.

I think BGT caters to the masses more. It's variety, not just singing, and the judges have a wider appeal.

Of course, with any new show, people will want to check it out. So I expect Voice to win the first match, but it will be more interesting to see how it fairs a few weeks down the line.

Got Talent will have around 3 million more viewers than The Voice tonight because it already has a following.

Fully Agree.

Yeah, BGT will definitely win. Established show, loyal following, later timeslot, weak competition, new judges etc.

It'd be nice if they both achieved the same viewing figures to prove that there's room for both of them. It feels like you've got to choose a team rather than appreciate both of them, even if you do decide to just watch one.

IF The Voice is good though it will win the ratings towards the end.

maybe the debut show will win on launch night

i know i'll watch outta curiosity.
but i expect it will be concentrating on judges arguing about who turned around first rather than arguing if they can sing or not

BGT will win of course, I'll be watching The Voice, but TV is new and unlikely to win on it's debut, it may grow though, hopefully. That's the trouble with all the press attention, they've turned it into a win or lose thing, where TV will be seen as a flop if it doesn't beat BGT even if it gets 7 million viewers, which is a decent figure for a debut reality contest.

Exactly.

If gets likes 6 million viewers everyone will say flop!

i put the voice because a lot of people want to see what it's like and are intrigued, were as they already know what the score is with bgt.

i think britains got talent will win the rating war because its one of the biggest shows in the country, the voice will get good rating for the first ever show, i would be extremely shocked if they beat britains got talent because no show really get 10+ million viewers for their first ever show, im sure the voice will grow in ratings though.

I'll be watching The Voice. BGT was a complete borefest last year, and the winner was completely forgettable. I'm sick of the judges voting in old ladies with no teeth that can't sing just for fun.

I've just watched an hour of The Voice and it's boring.

BGT will win tonight and each week from now on will kill it dead.
