Judging on the posts on The Voice forum, many people are turning over for BGT.

I hope The Voice does.

BIB Yes, but I do like BGT for the variety aspect of the show, sick to death of XFactor & didn't watch the last series. But soon became bored with The Voice, so BGT has got my attention.

Hopefully The Voice will win, BGT is stale for me and I wasn't even tempted to switch over at 8pm.

No need for me to choose, watch 1 then the other on +1. Enjoyed the voice more than BGT so far,

Watched The Voice whilst recrding BGT and then watched BGT straight after.
I have mentioned elsewhere the logic of ITV scheduling as they are paid by advertising and most of us because of the 20 minutes overlap can fast forward straight through the adverts.
These companies must mad to adverise during BGT.

I would like the Voice to win, since BGT has become so stale and predictable now. Also, I think Simon "stealing Alesha" is completely petty considering that she was the judge nobody really liked on Strictly anyway.

Simon narrowly scrapes it in the ratings

Was closer than expected though

The Voice though won out easily in the 20 minute cross over

And they would be right.

£20 million spent on a Saturday night show and all that publicity just for 6 million viewers would have been very worrying for the BBC. As it was it got 8 million and will get more each week I imagine.

Alot of people would have watched The Voice to see what it's like as a new show. I wonder if they'll actually stick to it.

It would have also been interesting if BGT was given the chance to be on first aswell. I mean when you've been watching a show for 1 hour, not many people will sacrifice the ending just to watch the opening 20 mins of another show they can catch on +1 or the many repeats.

The BIB - that is what is wrong with this once great country.
All BGT needs is the siamese twins and the bearded lady (or have we had those already) and it is a carbon copy of the Victorian Freak shows.

I'm not ashamed to admit I'm an X-Factor and BGT nut!

I'd be quite happy to see Simon Cowell take over the world.

Sounds like people are merely tuning in for The Voice to spite BGT. Not for the actual quality of it.

These ratings wars also make me laugh because I like many others hardly watch TV in regular time slots anymore, not in the age of Sky+ and online players. A lot will probably watch both shows anyway.

Simon and ITV should definitely be concerned by the viewing figures of The Voice, despite the extensive hype and media coverage the build-up to this programme generated. The BBC wanted to turn this into a ratings battle and they most certainly have.

Not only that, judging from the comments I have read about The Voice, the overall consensus I got was that The Voice has been an overwhelming success. Long may this continue in my view, and I hope it wins the ratings battle.

I think BGT will get the most viewers but personally I watch The Voice and record BGT to watch later so I can ffwd through the ads and other bits I don't want to watch.
