Yay sunshine's delurked, welcome Meant to ask have you been watching the Australian version of DWTS and if so what do you think of Russell Crowe's wife, Danielle, watched a bit and they seem to be gushing over her?

I've really enjoyed watching Tristan and Gladys - I thought their camaraderie was quite touching - Tristan choregraphed nice, simple and funny routines that suited her joyful personality - I will miss them but it was their time to go. I think Tristan is great - I read I think it was here that he actually auditioned for SCD first but got turned down! Were the producers mad Still he's having the last laugh now and no doubt earning more money on DWTS.

I'm sad that Roshon doesn't seem to be that popular because I like him - my other fav is Donald Driver and I'm glad he's doing well. Thanks to everyone providing links

Yes, I have finally succumbed KarmaA And yes, I am watching the Aussie DWTS. Danielle Spencer, with pro partner Damian Whitewood, I quite like this pairing, although I am waiting for a bit of personality to come out of her, probably nerves on her part, so I should not be too harsh...she is quite good on the floor, week 1, V.Waltz, just lovely, score of 25/30 and week 2 they danced a Jive, the dreaded Jive scored another 25. I don't see the judges as gushing over her, but as being "well behaved" with her. I don't think they want to Russell (rustle) any feathers Well that is my joke for the day Judges always seem to have their favs, happens here in Oz, the UK and the US...it can be annoying at times, but in the end, it is just a tv entertainment show

Hi KarmaA, no, that is not an unfair question...each country has a different feel for me. The US version is more slick, glitz, glamour, in your face entertainment. Ours is more laid back. The standard of dance does not compare to SCD and the US show. I sometimes get annoyed with ours, because I have been spoiled by SCD and the US show. Our show is not a patch on these, just my opinion, but I enjoy the UK show the most, the Brits know how to do it with style...

I've only seen bits of the Australian version on youtube - looks quite interesting - I suppose every country's version has it's pros and cons - as much as we moan about Tess at least we don't have Mel B co hosting Sorry about that by the way but I think you can blame the Americans more since she did the US version originally

Hi Topaz, Mel B, whoa, what a change from our last co-host. I was so sick of the old co-host that I was relishing a change. Mel B is not everyones cup of tea, but I don't mind her at all, although I do tape the show and watch later, because if I watched it live, I would not always understand her

While the quality of dancing is not on par with SCD and the US version, I really like the feel of the show. Laid back indeed (kid playing on the front row, toddlers in the audience), but at the same time the judges can be brutally honest. I guess that's an Ozzie thing too. I like that.
I really miss Sonia. Mel B. isn't too bad, but she trying to hard to be as quirky as Sonia.

Looks like the Oz one has a smaller budget, but as you say laid back. Haven't watched enough to see Mel B presenting, but have seen ex Neighbours' chap, Daniel think his name is. Are those judges well known and as funny as Bruno?

Wonder if this was what Katherine inferred No wonder he doesn't show much emotion on the dance floor probably too cream crackered

Hi KarmaA, Mel B is a refreshing change for me. I hope they give her another season on our DWTS. As for our judges, we have Todd McKenney, age 47 ish, the "Mr. Nasty" and boy he can be nasty, but he does have valid points. He has a dance background, has performed in many dance/musicals, so the knowledge is there.... Next judge is Helen Richey, former competitive dancer, retired from comps, think she judges dance comps, don't know her age, gives fair comments, straight to the point and our last judge, Joshua Horner, a new judge since 2011, also has a dance/theatrical background. They are well known here, especially if you follow the show, but alas we do not have a Bruno type judge, thank goodness, just a bit too over the top for me. Not sure if Australia could handle a Bruno !!! Yes, Daniel MacPherson is our host, has been hosting since 2008.

That Oz version sounds interesting;might as well give it a look . Is this season interesting ? I watched some of their performances when I heard that Natalie Lowe was going to be at strictly . And to see Brendan as a judge:he was actually very nice with his comments

It should be a good dance for her. However, this will be her 4th Latin dance in a row (if you count the Argentine Tango as Latin). A bit unfair.
