Interesting stuff - especially when it comes to technical difficulty (or lack of) versus performance quality. I thought Maria was over marked, but I hadn't really considered the lack of difficulty in her routine (I think I got carried away just enjoying it), but he - and you - have a point. Perhaps you should be a judge

Louis' verdict:
The person I'd miss the least would probably be Roshon - I just don't remember his routines (though I like Jaleel least - I'm assuming he'd be safe in a dance-off).

Louis certainly shouldn't be a judge. Haven't you heard his bitterness about being ditched from the show this season, as well as complaining about how Derek always gets the good partners? I know he does, but to constantly complain about it is quite ridiculous. But maybe he's changed. Maybe.

Yes, he certainly speaks his mind . I also wish Maks would button it sometimes. It's one thing being honest and outspoken, but if you moan too much, you end up looking daft.....and I don't like having bad thoughts about Maks ...well, not those kind

Well we don't know whats been said behind the scenes perhaps he was led to believe he would definitely be on this season and then they suddenly changed their minds?And he is right about Derek and he isn't the only one to voice disatisfaction on that score (not just Maks) Besides which he'd still be more impartial than CA and Bruno.I would like someone like Shirley Ballas in place although I realise that would rule out Mark and Derek.


I do think a lot of the dancers could do with a media training course to be able to express their thoughts without sounding either foolish/arrogant/ridiculous etc and not just over there but for SCD too.It seems a lot of pressure is on for them to be media savvy when they're just not anymore than any of us would be.

Dear me. Classical eh? It's an interesting definition of classical that includes Lady Gaga and the theme from Downton Abbey. The orchestra and singers were fab, and that little Jackie Evancho is a Katherine Jenkins Mini-Me, without the false eyelashes!

Loved Donald's Viennese Waltz, he looked like Prince Charming. It was my favourite dance.

Poor Melissa - how ridiculous to try to pair Mozart and Argentine Tango. Why couldn't they have used Habanera from Carmen? The big lifts were a mistake but she really, really tried. Maks seems genuinely fond of her which is lovely to see.

I'm betting Roshon and Melissa/Jaleel in the bottom two. The dance duel is a rumba so Roshon has the advantage of having done one before, albeit badly!

Very disappointed with tonight result . I cant believe Melissa is still here.
I think that Katherine&William should advance but to know the other 2 who will go with them is a bit tricky.
Next week will be very,very interesting.
What tonight's showed is how strong Maks&Melissa fanbase is.I am really afraid that one of the best dancers will go home next week because of them. His fans are dead certain to see him in the semi;their dedication is impressive. Melissa imo should have gone earlier and she has never been in the bottom 2 .
Roshon for one reason or another doesnt really connect with the audience. What upset me more was to see him in the bottoom 2 AGAIN,C'mon America!. He danced really well in the dance duel though.
Jaleel;I know he wasnt everyone cup of tea but I liked him, sad to see him go.And that comment that he said to Len:I think that he really has a dark sense of humor that not many people get and some people might interpret it as being offensive/rude.

Well I got that totally wrong I was convinced that Roshon would go in that situation,still can't see him lasting much longer though.

As to Melissa not going blame the judges as much as 'mad' Maks fans.From reading the boards it wasn't just Maks fans voting to save them there was a big backlash against the judges percieved bias and overmarking of other couples, not to mention their critiques of Melissa,ok she was't great but constructive criticism rather than soundbites would have been better.If the judges want her out try not overmarking their favourites or letting their dislike of Maks or Melissa or both shine through it may work wonders.

Massive fanbases overturning what should be isn't new either and Mark has benefitted from this in the past with Bristol and Chelsie with Ty it won't determine the winner though would say based on screaming blind support that would be William..

Jaleel was never going to get that far after that rumoured spat with Kym,true or not,also he came over as a bit odd

Edy - I don't think you can put the result solely down to Maks support. He's exited early before, and didn't make the final with a really good dancer (Brandy). Didn't win with Mel etc etc. Look how the audience responded when the judges were unnecessarily rude to John Sargeant!

I think the only dancer that could drag a not so good celeb to the final by himself would be Derek (but they'll never put that theory to the test! )

I thought Jaleel's comment was a bit silly - not so much because it was rude (Len didn't seem bothered, so I don't think anyone else need be) - but just daft. It was a bit patronising to Roshon - 10s aren't rewards you get for working hard or because your're young and cute. But then the clamour for 10s does my head in generally .

I think there are always large cultural differences when Americans watch British tv program(me)s and British watch American program(me)s in terms of interpretating what is said at times. I literally saw nothing odd, rude, disparaging etc with anything that Jaleel said to Len or anything said geared towards Roshon. I read these comments before I watched the show and was expecting the worst and wondering whatever it could have been that he said? , but I found he was gracioius, complimentary, and grateful for the experience. I just did not see anything out of sorts.. If anything I would have interepreted it as a gentle ribbing. Little brother sort of thing..

That said, it's no secret this show is partly about fan bases and connecting with the audience. Melissa certainly has a long standing fan base going back to the 70s. Plus while growing up and marrying, she was in several mini series throughout the 80s and 90s, so she is well remembered (and probably loved) by a large demographic who watches DWTS. US spanish language tv stations such as Univision are huge huge huge and I'm sure that is where William gets a lot of his fans. The American hispanic demographic is very large and nothing TV execs want to lose.

I like Katherine (but I have not liked Mark in quite awhile.. since Kristy Yamaguchi I believe lol),, and as good as she is, I'm not sure she has a large enough fan base to keep her at the #1 spot. American's wont keep Melissa over Katherine to be sure, but when it gets to the final 3 and 2, I honestly think Donald may have a serious chance of taking it, or at least Maria and Derek.

I honestly think it's going to be Katherine, Maria and Donald in the final 3, with either Maria or Donald winning. Katherine may be up the #2, but I think Donald, if continuing as he is, could certainly take it. I think the average viewer in this country 1. loves a football player or sports person, 2. loves someone who rises from a lower level to the top , and 3, charms the audiences and connects. His exuberance and perception of trying harder and reaping the benefits is infectious. I don't think the average viewer is looking at the technical aspects of the dance but rather just want to be entertained and see a good (as they view it) dance. Just my little fun speculation...

I certainly loved Katherine joy in seeing Derek & Maria take 3 10's. You could tell she was genuinely pleased for them. When I saw that, I liked her a whole lot better.
