Today I was watching some of backstage interviews for season 10 that Sabrina Bryan (dwts alumn season 5) did and it just struck me how much different is the show from what we see every week
. Not that I didnt know that but I really got to hear what the viewers thought about each contestants(who they liked every week, who they voted for, who they thought was going to be eliminated...), and how some pros were in their trailer or how the contestants are behind the scenes.
From what I watched(week2-week10) mainly all the viewers were rooting for Nicole , Evan and Erin and generally Nicole was the huge favourite by the audience. I found it a bit surprising since sites like the abc boards, pure dwts, twop(dwts).... disliked her and Derek in general!
It made me understand/realise that at the end of the day those fans that Sabrina interviewed are the ones who vote really hard every week for their favs to win but those who bitched/complained about other couples in some blogs dont even bother to vote(well at times).

I wished scd would do something like that but I doubt it. I always get to read how some of the things works backstage but to see it was actually nice

Hi Fridge *waves back* I know, I can't keep away.
Maks and Melissa are not invited on Live with Kelly tomorrow morning but Roshon and Chelsie are. Some people think Maks is being muzzled and that they may have been skewed on the votes. Maks is not saying much right now and we haven't heard his agents 'big new' yet. As for Craig, you never know he might quite fancy Maks.Lol!!

I'm not sure why you'd be surprised about Derek. After all, his Season 6 dance partner had a teacher boyfriend - NOT a fiancee, they hadn't even been dating that long - who came to the first few shows until she dumped him for Derek. As much as Derek tried to downplay it--he denied it as long as he could, even saying "he" was going to go to Mexico on vacation after the finale, while Shannon was bursting to tell the interviewer that she was going too. She didn't quite say it, but there are photos showing they went to Mexico together.
As far as how long Derek and Shannon were together, they began their affair April 4, 2008 (according to Shannon) and they broke up in July, 2009, although they didn't anounce it until August, 2009. They broke up about 3 weeks after he was caught with the Playboy D.J. However, I understand they'd broken up quietly at least once before and there were ongoing problems.
Derek has said Maria's taken and "I'm not that guy, nobody wants to be that guy" -- the guy who would steal another man's girlfriend.

If there ever was proof Derek doesn't consciously manipulate publicity, he never even used to tell his fans or followers what he was doing, or a thing about his upcoming projects. It drove them crazy.
Injuries: Derek TRIES to keep them quiet:
1) Nobody knew until the Week 2 package that Maria had actually been injured a week before the season even started!
2) Brooke Burke's office assistant at Baboosh Baby told me when I called to trace a lost/delayed order that Brooke actually had MORE injuries than we knew about, that one thing would heal and she'd get OTHER injuries. I don't know if it's in Brooke's book but I do know what her assistant told me.
3) Derek told ABC reporter George Pennacchio late in Season 10 that there had been injuries (he didn't say if it was him or Nicole) but he learned not to talk about them, but that if they were serious, then of course he couldn't keep it quiet, but otherwise mum's the word.
4) Derek is not the type to try to encourage showmance rumors. Just the opposite. He didn't acknowledge his actual romance with Shannon until SIX MONTHS after it began, when his next partner (Brooke Burke) let the cat out of the bag.
How many people even know Derek dated India de Beaufort for 3 years or that she moved to the U.S. for 6 months to be with him? Talk about secretive!

I definitely get 'different strokes for different folks.' I never say so on threads swooning about, say, Gilles Marini, but he never did anything for me, even though I see how others would go nuts. We all have our own types!

Well in terms of fanciable male celebs on there he's probably the best(although I have big soft spot for Joey Fatone but thats personality driven)..a little too suave for my usual tastes but in a different league to William Levy (who I still don't get the fascination for)both in dancing ability (he was robbed! Lol) and looks and there wasn't much Maks that season so had to take the breaks where they came
Sorry I realise I am taking the dance discussion down to a rather base level here
I hasten to add I never vote based on my ovaries but on whom I like as a dancer(improvement tending to win over being good from the start) but a little lusting on the side is acceptable

They are very biased for Derek and they will sometimes delete comments that they don't like.

If you are a fan of someone , I think that you should be able to criticise them when needs to be;nobody is perfect.What annoys me is when some people take their obsession too far and refuse to see some flaws in the person that they admire or like
and thats dangerous imo.Well its not only him. Most of them actually dislike Mark B. and other pros. Once again nothing wrong with that, you like who you like but they dont accept other opinions or cant fathom that some people have different opinions and thats infantile imo;which is a shame because its a really good site.

Hear hear, no one is perfect and I agree you can like someone and not believe they walk on water. I often find that puts me off a celeb/couple/pro when their fans will brook no criticism at all and gush constantly about how perfect their hero is. I like the flaws!
