I agree, Katherine has done an excellent job and the nature of these shows is that so many factors play in voting. I don't want to see Katherine (or Donald for that matter) go tonight but if they do one could not ask for more effort or talent.

I remember being completely taken by surprise when Kara and Artem won because I thought Matt had it the bag because he had such a strong fan base especially the ladies. You just never know.

By this stage in the competition most people already know who their favourite is and no bizarre judges scoring will sway me from my favourite at this stage. Imo the judges are just there to provide extra spice and controversy to get as many people as possible talking about the show - and it's worked

This jive, was it jive after all, got a 29? Really? During the dance I thought he wasn't successful when he tried to reanimate her in the beginning. What a waste of time. And Len. Honey, what happens with your 10 paddle everytime Katherine or Donald get their scores?

Derek did say he was "ready for Betty" meaning that he ready for an older celeb (DWTS asks Betty White every season and she says no - she would be hilarious but that is another conversation). I want him to be partnered with someone who could have given birth to him. I think he would do an incredible with her and stretched him even further in choreo.

Imagine if he had gotten Gladys this year it would have been a true test of his abilities as a pro. It would have been an opportunity to more mature and less goofy Derek. And if Tristan had gotten Katherine, sigh....that would have been brilliant. I like Katherine with Mark but chemistry-wise Tristan would have been such a good match after seeing that cha cha.

Tristan did a beautiful job with Gladys though and the pros could take a lesson from him on how to do a rumba with an older celeb.

Betty White was on the Golden Girls and Mary Tyler Moore. She is a comedic actress and well loved. Fiesty and funny. There has been a compaign to get her on her DWTS and Derek would love to partner her. All kidding aside, I would worry for injuries but the practice videos would be worth the price of admission.

Derek was partnered with a woman who was not only old enough to have given birth to him, but technically old enough to be his grandmother (though, granted, not by much).

Betty White is 90 years old. Tom Bergeron strongly advised her not to do the show because of the physical demands, which he felt would be way too much for her.

The "I'm ready for Betty" comment came after an earlier question to Derek about who he wanted to be partnered with. His initial reply was, "Whoever they pair me with, that's who I want." What a great attitude.

When pressed for a specific celebrity, he mentioned Betty White. So the next time he was asked the question, at his 25th birthday party, he quickly answered. I’m ready!” I love how in this video Derek gives his philosophy of just trying to do good dances, not worrying about results, that it's out of his hands, but if they do good dances, he's content.
