So glad to see the final has the right 3 couples in. I know people aren't too keen on William but I do think he has been trying (and I do like Cheryl - most of the time).

I think it will be a good final - and at least there will be no crazy voters out there.

Re the voting system, I wish that Strictly would do the voting system like that instead of judges placings.

That's not the way I calculated it. I calculated that Maria had 59/230 or 25.65%, while Katherine had 56/230 or 24.34%. Therefore, Katherine's deficit was only 1.31%. All Katherine had to do was get 1.32% more votes than Maria.

And I do believe the U.S. system of calculating percentage is superior to the old "ranking" method. The ranking method caused Lisa Rinna to be eliminated despite outscoring Jerry Rice by TWELVE POINTS, which is a huge gap. After that season (Season 3) they instituted the newer, fairer percentage method.

So happy for Katherine! I was hoping both Katherine and Maria made the finals, but Katherine was always my predicted winner.

Some are having digs about Kath's back, but Maria and Derek with their injuries were playing ball and running and jumping on Monday night filmed by pap Henry so think it is sour grapes. Probably if it was a back spasm it eased up. She doesn't seem the type to put it on, if that was the case why try so hard to learn the dances.

I don't believe Derek choreographer the Jive like that because of Maria's injuries; injured or not, there's no way she would have been able to perform a decent Jive.

The All Star season is supposed to be bringing back some "controversial" contestants. Oh great, Kate Gosselin and Bristol will probably be making an appearance :yawn:

Yes belly dancing is harder than it looks - not that I'm a belly dancer myself but I've done it for fitness and I've watched loads of belly dancers on youtube - theres quite an art to it and some of those moves are really tricky!

I've never considered judges favoritism to be an issue on DWTS before. Sure there is the tendency to over mark those that were less capable such as Bristol but her marks increased as she improved as a dancer but this season with Maria it has been evident and I'm glad that the public have responded. Probably what's most interesting about this result is that Derek is not as popular as what is believed.

Maria is the first celebrity to gain the highest judges score of the night and then be eliminated since Willa Ford in series 3. Sometimes the public vote for performance over technique but without a doubt the most capable three have made the final. Even though I've enjoyed Maria's dances and am a huge Derek fan, she dances so little compared to the others. Her Salsa and Rumba for example were exciting to watch and had great technique but very little movement. I think it's a shame she's been criticized because of how the judges perceive her, her improvement from week 1 is unquestionable.

Derek's fans are not only disappointed with the result but are LIVID about Cheryl's comments to Derek and Maria. Cant remember exactly what she said but it was a bitchy comment imo.
I really dont like her this season with William, because I feel like she feels entitled and thinks that she has this in the bag(well she is probably right ) but its a bit presumptuous to assume it.This reminds me of Anna T. of season 10 who thought she had it in the bag so glad that Nicole and Derek won

I find it amazing how some celebrities bring the worst or the best in their professional dancers each season. Because there are some seasons that I absolutely dislike a pro that I previously liked simply because of who he/she is paired with.

-I liked Mark with Shawn, Kristi,interestingly enough with Bristol because I think he was very protective of her.He had the best partnerships with those girls imo. And this season with Katherine I feel like seeing the "old Mark" again.
-Derek always gets along with all of his partners but his worst partnerships were imo with Shannon and Maria. Best chemistry with Nicole, Lil Kim, jennifer...
-Maks was awful with Hope and Brandy
-I didnt like Cheryl with Ocho, Gilles(nothing against him), Drew
