What did Cheryl say to Derek and Maria?
![]() Or was it when Maria smoothed Cheryl's hair (with her spit ) and Cheryl said, "Thanks, Moma."?

I've only started to take a look at this forum during this series but WOW
they really get worked up over there don't they - even more so than here when SCD is on it would seem.Yes I've just seen the thread where a poster is angry that Tristan has won design an dance because the poster thinks he's boring - I know everyone can't like the same pros but that's quite harsh - it's quite amusing with Tristan's fans rallying to his defence ![]() Sounding smug, we seem positively civil on here ![]() Perhaps we should start hurling a few insults back and forth to spice things up - not |

I'm not sure what they're upset about. Could it be when the pros were assessing the competition? Cheryl said, "I don't think Derek cares if Maria's injured, I think he's just going to push her even harder. If she could get a perfect score when she was injured, she should be able to do it again."
![]() Or was it when Maria smoothed Cheryl's hair (with her spit ) and Cheryl said, "Thanks, Moma."?![]() I haven't seen it, so I'm not sure of the tone etc. However, I think Maria could have stood still in the middle of the floor while Derek circled her and they would still have received a few tens. I'm not usually one for conspiracy theories and I know judges have had their favourites in the past, but the way they fawned over Maria (or should I say Derek) was ridiculous. I'm sure the pros get annoyed too - who wouldn't? It has kind of marred this season for me. The scores have often seemed a bit random in the past, but the whole thing seemed totally rigged. The judges have no credibility now. |

The ABC message board and even TWOP at times are downright embarrassing with the immature behavior. I will say TWOP posters seem to be more intelligent and they can quite funny so I cut it more slack. ABC is ridiculous and I just go there to vote and stopped reading. If they were 13 I'd cut them some slack but you know I am pretty sure these are adult women some of them grandmas. Nothing like an angry granny unleased defending her favourite dancer. Haha. People will say anything from the safety of an annymous computer screen.
That is why I love this forum. . We get a discussion going and there are differing opinions but it doesn't feel like bullies on a playground. But I will say when the season SCD gets towards the finals the gloves come off on DS also.

I like the fan threads over there though and I learned a lot about some fans encounters with their fav. pro.:gives me a different perspective of some of the pros. The twop forum that I discovered just recently is great imo. Yes they can bicker at times but I find some of these posters much more level-headed and more knowledgeable(dancing, voting,). My fav. thread has to be the conspiracy thread:Grassy Knoll. Puredwts I just refuse to deal with that website anymore(well I will only lurk because its one thing for the fans to be biased for whoever they like but the webmasters are incredibly biaised for their fav. pro aka Derek and if you dare say something....(thanks to Dancefan I know that the girls who run that website are the same who run purederekhough so it all makes sense).I feel like gloating and go over there and say how incredibly happy I am that Maria&Derek went home yesterday but that wouldnt probably go to well .

Did you notice that Tom commented about getting on the grassy knoll. That tells me that the producers read the message boards because where else do people throw out that term. They want to get on the pulse of what the fans are saying.

It's credited and all. But then, they mess it up by bragging about being DWTS "experts" or self-complimenting their sooooper special analysis when the commentary is so bland and obvious. The reading's much more insightful and funnier on sites like DS & TWoP. Anyone bragging about being an "expert" on DWTS is so ugh. I cringe from the second-hand embarrassment of that. They bring that self-importance to their moderating. It looks totally batshit when they rant at commenters even after they've been banned. ![]() I've never commented there, therefore I've never been banned or censored there. This isn't a vengeance post. I also like Derek Hough, so I'm not offended by others who like him too. (I wouldn't be offended by those who dislike him either.) Excuse my own "batshit" rant here, but I guess over the past year, I've just been bugged or a little irritated every time I happened upon that site, and it built up. Seeing edy's post opened the floodgates. I think I need to unfollow some people on twitter until I get better at selectively following links. |

Hi UltraJane - glad you jumped in - keep posting!
![]() I'm laughing at everyone's irritation at the PureDwtS site - they are sooooo annoying . They're so militant (I want to say 'cult-like', but that's a bit strong ) that it's off-putting for anyone who isn't equally and utterly devoted. Oh, well - it takes all sorts, doesn't it?

Few things depress me as much as going on the ABC board. I do my best to avoid it.
It makes you wonder: Are Americans really that uneducated, ignorant, stupid and mean? Sadly, it appears the answer is "Yes, many of them." Although I hasten to add the people I respect who aren't any of those things--those who are sharp, civil, knowledgable, educated and logical--left long ago, leaving the inmates to run the asylum. Many are very young. It's not just older women as someone upthread wrote. But it does look like our educational system has gone to pot. Or were people always that stupid? As the comedian George Carlin said only half jokingly, "Just think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize half of them are even stupider!" Uneducated and stupid I can (almost) overlook. But mean? I mean viciously mean? It's unforgiveable, imo. Even with the sometimes-snarky comments here, this is a MUCH better board. Posters here are more educated--they are actually familiar with English spelling and grammar (what a concept!)--more insightful and not so set in stone in their opinions that they can appreciate both sides of an issue and not take anything too seriously. And as almost every member of my family discovered on their own, British newspapers and commentators do a FAR better job of covering U.S. issues and events than our own so-called media. The best photos of the Southern California wildfires, the Minnesota bridge collapse, even of the new World Trade Center rising above the ashes--ALL courtesy of UK publications. It makes my head spin. Thank you, UK.

Hello Ultrajane
![]() I feel like defending some Americans here and say that not all of them are like that but its really hard to say that when you have websites like the abc boards and its not the only one(well not all of them are like that) For all their talk(or our talk lol) about freedom of speech, I feel like people in the Uk are much more versed into that area. Just look at some DS threads: I like the fact that most of the time we can all have intelligent discussions here and I agree to disagree

America's a big country and it would be plain silly to draw any inferences about the state of the nation from a slightly hysterical tv dance show board . Anyway, we have our own public embarrassments . I shudder to think what conclusions peeps abroad come to from stuff in the Daily Mail (and the comments you see on there)

seriously , I take it you never read the DS General Discussion threads where some of the threads (many) definitely have a vicious anti American tone. Even the X Factor UK board was particularly nasty regarding Kelly Rowland and her "OTT American attitude". Anyway, there are rude insensitive ignorant stupid and mean people on both sides of the Atlantic. I never expected the DWTS threads to start veering off into this realm. Really, at this point, ANY olf the three remaining are deserving to win. Any of them. Just my opinion... (although Im rooting for Donald and Peta)
