Thanks for apology!

I think the thing is that I am watching from New Zealand and often wait until midnight PT to watch the full show on ABC as youtube can be a bit hit and miss. I didn't realise that people were posting after watching DWTS Eastern time: Heh ho.

I'm really stoked for Donald though as I really think he upped his game in recent weeks and I have a bit of a girl crush on Peta....

I didn't love any of the final dances. Katherine could never have won, but second place is more than respectable. At least Maria's "Jive" wasn't the highest scoring one of the season

Thanks for the info Lili you and Karma and Edy have done a great job all season.

It was agreed earlier in the season that spoilers were not necessarry by the majority,I don't feel an apology was needed. If I don't want to know a result then I will avoid forums, somehow or other it will always come out no point in getting in a tizz about it

Thank you as usual for the links/posts. Certainly no need for spoilers

Very pleased with the result. Loved both Donald and Katherine but thought Donald had the better journey .It is a tv show after all and his improvement since show one was wonderful to watch imo.Love Peta as well.

Well done to all three finalists. Great job! Can't wait for strictly now.

Great interview - love his accent

I like Katherine but just have a slight preference for Donald (probably because I have an irrational dislike for Mark)
S'okay - it's not irrational - he's been a bit of a prat for the last few seasons . He's been better with Katherine, so I haven't been put off - hope he sticks with it!

Last confessionals . Mark has really brought Katherine out of her shell .

Can't view it here unfortunately
William and Cheryl does a salsa. Well I loved this - real salsa music and to me a real salsa. The judges loved it.

Scores: 10-10-10.
I agree - very enjoyable (made a little more so, by the fact that I knew he came third!)

I liked K's jive, but it wasn't as dynamic as the first jive she did and I wasn't too fussed about D's Cha Cha.

Could this show be any longer!
Just get it over and done with !!!!
'My' version of the show was about 27minutes long

One of the things that I love about Dwts is that we get to see an after show party, interviews, ....unfortunately we dont get that at strictly:its brutal once its over is over.
Yes - I often go into mourning - there needs to be a withdrawal prgramme

Seconded!

..and thanks to everyone for all your posts and opinions - it's been fun.

I'm very happy with the result, (even though I would have liked Katherine to win). Donald's been a great contestant and I like Peta and their relationship. I was heartened and surprised by America voting Katherine into second place - a great result for her, I think.

There are a few loose ends to tie up, though ......Was anything going one between Derek and Maria? Are Maks and Peta dating (he was certainly in full-on support mode for her on his twitter )? Did Maks' PR person ever make her amazing announcement?! Does Toni Dovolani own a tasteful jacket and tie combination? And what does Lovely Tristan do with himself in the off-season?....(just in case I'm at a loose end and decide to buy a pair of powerful binoculars )

I loved Donny Osmond and would love to see him back, I thought his partnership with Kym was fantastic. I would also like to see Kyle & Lacey back too, their Samba is still one of my fav ever DWTS/SCD routines.

The result was as I expected it would be. The estate agents in LA will be rubbing their hands waiting for some of Katherines millions.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread and that it took off, coz it's the only way we get to see DWTS in the UK, vicariously through US viewers' commentry (Lili and edy and anyone I forgot) and through Youtubers uploading videos, big thanks to Awesome and DWTS for posting the clips or we'd be stuffed

Still I think I enjoyed it more coming on here and getting others' opinions. Haven't got so involved since Julianne and Apollo!

Congrats to Donald and Peta no surprise really, that they won. Glad Kath and Mark came in second at least.

Watch this space Fridgey to see if Peta and Maks hook up, yes he was a great supporter. Lol Toni's jackets no wonder Martina got to wear a fisherman's net for a top, is it any wonder with his fashion sense

Im pleased with the result. Either Katherine or Donald would have been fine with me. (Just not a Mark fan lol). I do have to say, Donald and Peta always entertained me, more so than any of the others, even though I felt Katherine was the better dancer overall. I just was able to view Donald and Petas dances several times, whereas once was enough for Mark and Katherine. Like I said, entertainment "to me" is what mattered.

What happened to that 24 hour dance off ror did I mistake that for something else? Or was it those dances the final three performed?

.
There was a comment earlier on how Peta is very lucky considering she was booted off first last time (with Megaworld or someone like that ) and that other female Pros were deserving as well. How did she get Donald? Was there a 'better' guarantee he would perform well? Did we think Metaworld peace would perform well? I would think the newer pros would have to work up to a potentially better celeb, I mean Tristan has not had the best performers and he is the newest, but when did Anna last have a good partner? Or even Tony? That is one pro who is deserving of a good shot, but I guess he did have it somewhat with Chynna . Just interesting how the pros and celebs are matched..

Hi Aerick

Think the 24 hr dance off, was they were given their music 24 hours before the final show, and they seemed to know what dances they were doing before that and then had to match it to the music as I understood it.

Don't know how they match the celebs and pros, bet there are some negotiatons to be hammered out behind the scenes and preferences, plus height and personality thrown in the mix. Think overall the pairings were well worked out this year, far better than some on SCD. Heard Tristan was Katherine's first choice, don't know if that is true.

I was pleased for Peta as after going out early last year to win this year must have been great for her. Donald was probably also the finalist who improved the most along the way and they were a great partnership. Well done to the others too though, it was a great series.

I agree and in response to the argument that it was unfair on the other pros that Peta got Donald - to be fair to her it wasn't really her fault that she got knocked out so early last year - I gather she was paired with a controversial figure who was extremely tall and as we've seen on SCD it's hard to get decent performances out very tall celebs. Also out of all the pros - she was the best fit for Donald in terms of height, body shape, personality and overall looks - I can't imagine him with any other pro even Karina who he worked so well with in the trio jive.

I'm really glad they won - it was well deserved as they were the couple that entertained the most!

Do you guys know that Donald choose Peta ? She must be thanking her lucky stars! The producers wanted to give him someone else(maybe someone like Anna, or who is very popular...) but he said NO he choose Peta:Im sure she thanked him a million of times for that decision, he said he wanted an underdog and he watched the show and he like her

Im not sure if Tony or Maks will ever win a serie: interestingly enough they are both best friends.Anna has been in this show for a long time and has never won also.
-Tony as sweet as he is doesn't have the fanbase, his routines are not exciting enough, while he is a great teacher I dont think that he has found the balance between choreographing for a show like dwts and pleasing the judges. And before anyone saying that he has always duds, well I beg to disagree(Melissa, Stacy,Chyna.....)
-Maks is certainly very popular but he is a bit polarizing; I feel like his attitude or whatever always hinder his celebrity at the end.
Val who is probably the most decorated dwts pro is a good example imo that you can be the best pro in the world and "fade" in the show. Tbh if he wasnt Maks's little brother maybe producer would have already replace him.
-Anna is nice but what is it? boring, ....? I dont know.Im actually glad that Donald went with Peta:Anna just puzzled me sometimes and not in a gd way!
Tristan stands a good chance of winning one day if he has a good partner but it might be difficult if Derek, Mark, and Cheryl are still in the competition and have good partners.

Peta and Maks ? I dont think its a good idea to mix business and pleasure. Well who knows if its true? And Maks seems a little bit like a famewhore (sorry for the term) especially recently.Still remember how disastrous the Karina&Maks relationship was .

I hope that Katherine can stay a little bit for Mark's birthday tomorrow. He will turn 26.

Thanks everyone for keeping this thread alive for the recent weeks

Ahh I didn't know that he chose her - that shows you what game show savvy he has in picking the underdog, unknown quantity as his partner I did remember when they showed his first meeting with her and he and one of his children looked genuinely ecstatic when they saw her!

I think it's great that he's such an uber fan of the show - it always makes it more enjoyable as you know your watching someone fulfiling their dream to take part in it!

Peta is very lucky but as I've said before she is the one that was most suited for him - Anna is a great dancer but she's had her chance at the title before with Evan.
