I've been watching the videos on Youtube - very entertaining! Zoe is my favourite. Did she say "bastard" in her Tango intro or was I dreaming?

Hi all,
Semi Final update for Oz DWTS, Week 9 Australian Rules Footballer Brendan Fevola has been eliminated from the show, and rightly so It was his time to go..I enjoyed the semi final, sort of, Dame Edna made an appearance half way through the show and sat beside the 3 judges on her own throne She made "comments" after each of the last four dances, this just annoyed me. Not my cup of tea at all US band Train also made an appearance, much better than Dame Edna for me Here are the dances and scores for Week 9.Johnny Ruffo - Jive 8 8 9 - total 25 - Argentine Tango 7 8 7 - total 22 - overall score 47 Zoe Cramond - Argentine Tango - 9 9 8 - total 26 - Rumba 10 10 10 - total 30 - overall score 56 Brendan Fevola - Salsa 5 5 5 - total 15 Argentine Tango - 9 9 9 total 27 - overall score 42 Danielle Spencer - Argentine Tango 9 9 9 total 27 Salsa 10 10 9 total 29 - overall score 56 Again, Danielle Spencer and Damian Whitewood were in the bottom two, but have scraped through to the final. I honestly don't know who will win, but I think Zoe Cramond is the best dancer of the final 3. She is the complete package, an all round natural dancer. Being an actress has helped her enormously to portray each dance. Well, they brought out the big guns for the Semi Final. At the end of the show, they brought out Russell Crowe and his two sons, who are absolutely adorable. I must say, this was quite touching. The look on Russell Crowe's face was full of love and admiration for his wife, just beautiful. I thought this might happen weeks ago if Danielle got through to the final. As for our 3rd finalist, Johnny Ruffo, he may have the X Factor fans behind him, so it could be anyones mirrorball this year. Hope everyone is well ![]() This wonderful person has uploaded all the dances - http://www.youtube.com/user/123dancetv?feature=watch

Sunshine thanks for the recap.I looked at some videos on youtube and its not bad at all.Its interesting and its nice to see that each version has a slight difference(like the contestants who have a micro. to reply to some of the judges comments)
Something puzzles me though who is that old lady who is sometimes seen at the end of each routine ![]() Now everytime I see some of them speak, I immediately think of Kym Johnson(our pro at DWTS) , she hasnt lost her accent at all ![]() When is the finale? And is DWTS twice a year over there too like in the American Version? ![]() Not sure who you mean, re the old lady who is sometimes seen at the end of each routine?? Do you mean our female judge, Helen Richey, who is a former ballroom/latin dancer or the "lady" who was sitting next to the three judges. She is Dame Edna Everage, the alter ego of Australian comedian, Barry Humphries. She appeared just for the semi final show. Kym Johnson has done so well, and has not lost her accent at all. I love that some (or most) of her celeb partners have trouble understanding her ![]() Our Finale is next Sunday, 17th June...will do a recap of the night...I do know that we are having cast members from Burn The Floor perform, should be fabulous.. We only have one series each year. We used to have two series in the beginning, our show began late 2004. We have had one series each year since 2008. I think we don't have the pool of celebs here in Oz, to have two series a year, like you do in the US. You are very lucky

Thought Danielle was the best dancer and had the best choreography this week, but she still doesn't show performance like Zoe and Johnny so this is what may help win it for them. Yes touching for Danielle that Rusty and her children came on you could see how much they love each other, sweet. Think it overshadowed the other contestants a bit though, but heard they had their families on but didn't get to see that so can't show balance. Here's the clip of Russell and the children coming on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnmO-vOEyMc Thought it was a bit funny with Dame Edna she was quite contained to her usual self, from the clips I have seen

We have had a few new pro dancers this series, it is needed every now and again to see someone with new ideas etc. It just freshens up the show... Zoe and Johnny are definitely more out going than Danielle, which may be her downfall...and I am guessing this is why she has been in the bottom two twice...I see what you mean, re Russell Crowe being reuinited with Danielle, they did take away from the other celebs. Zoe's dad flew in from New Zealand to see her dance, did not notice anything about Johnny's family, I must have missed it As for Dame Edna, I switch off she is on the telly, have seen so much of the same old thing, it is not as enjoyable as it once was, just my opinion

He has become really popular these past seasons, good for him. We needed another tall male pro besides Tony and Maks. And he has now reached the level of popularity of Derek, Mark, and Maks .I think that he will be back for the All Stars and the question is with who? I really want to see what he can do with someone who has the ability to dance. Val has not made an impression to me in this show and I think that if he wasnt Maks brother TPTB would have already dropped him .Does anyone know any good dancing boards(beside this one , TWOP and Puredwts not that the latter is actually good![]() where we can read recaps of episodes and discussion.Sometimes when Im bored lol, I like to lurk and read those kind of boards ![]()

Then he said on Dance Junkies if it doesn't concern him he never knows what is happening to other couples in the show or is uninterested. Don't know if that was a bit of sour grapes for going out early with Sherri or just his personality. |

Just watching a bit of Burn the Floor, don't know if it will be these dancers next Sunday for DWTS, noticed Artem's ex wife Giselle in the troupe.

I wish DWTS will drop the troupe and stop wanting to make it happen. In my humble opinion most of the pro dances at DWTS are always disorganized and not synchronized and the troupe is even worse, if that was possible.

Some of the troupe are former cast members from 'Burn the Floor' mentioned earlier - Henry and Sasha - DWTS seem to get a lot of pros from there - I know Robin from Strictly was part of the cast before he was in the UK. I quite like the troupe myself - it's good they showcase other dancers. Sunshine thanks for the link for Australian DWTS - the bits I've watched I've really enjoyed - loved Jessica Watson for all the wrong reasons Will catch up with it later it's a really good mix of contestants!

I'd be interested in hearing about other boards too! I found this one and during the DWTS actual seasons, it's pretty good:
http://www.fansofrealitytv.com/forums/dancing-stars-14/ And the network ABC has a forum on DWTS and sometimes I go there and look around. I've found some ok threads but it's a bit chaotic or something. And often mean-spirited, I think. (Haven't spent a lot of time there so I'm not sure - a thread will be there and the next day, it'll be pages back and hard to locate.) It's good when I'm really bored because there are loads of threads: http://abc.go.com/shows/dancing-with...cuss?cat=23170 |

When the show is on they post a lot but a bit like here things quiten down when the shows finished. They do seem to get quite mean towards others and a bit carried away
