Lets see how these 2 last . IMO Its never a good idea to get involved with your colleague, especially in the dance world(it never seems to last). I wish them the best but Peta should know better, look at what happened to Karina Smirnoff(people can say what they want about her but I think it was cruel the way that she was treated after their break-up) and Maks is a big crybaby(cant even be dignified in a break-up, ok whatever...).

Update Oz DWTS Finale 17th June, 2012

And what a night it was, a bit of a cliffhanger in my eyes

All three were to perform three dances, a Redemption/Judges Choice Dance, a Sudden Death Cha Cha and a Freestyle.

Redemption Dances - danced to a new routine and new music.

Danielle Spencer - Jive (danced in Week 2 with a score of 25) Finale night score 9 10 9 - total 28

Johnny Ruffo - Foxtrot (danced in Week 2 with a score of 22) Finale night score 10 9 10 - total 29

Zoe Cramond - Jive (danced in Week 2 with a score of 24) Finale night score 7 8 8 - total 23 She lost the steps

As per usual of a Finale, the eliminated celebs/partners returned for another twirl around the dance floor :yawn: The only celeb that did not dance was singer Shannon Noll who pulled out of the show in week 5 due to a back injury, but he did sing on the finale..

Then Olivia Newton-John sang Xanadu, we love Livvy here in Oz, but her hitting the notes is not quite the same as it was

Next we had the Sudden Death Cha Cha. Each celeb had a solo spot in the beginning. Our 3 celebs danced together, before their pro dance partners came in and they danced their individual Cha Cha.

Scores for the Sudden Death Cha Cha -

Danielle Spencer 9 9 9 - total 27
Johnny Ruffo 8 9 9 - total 26
Zoe Cramond - 9 9 9 - total 27

Scores at this point are - Danielle 55, Johnny 55 and Zoe 50 - There was an elimination after the Sudden Death Cha Cha and in 3rd place we have Zoe Cramond So sad for her, but her Redemption Jive let her down, not enough overall score for her to move on to the Freestyle.

Next we had a brilliant performance by cast members from Burn The Floor, such energy, passion, phew, I was exhausted by the end of it After BTF, we had Zoe and her pro partner dance their Freestyle, and I must say, I was not overly impressed, especially as the Freestyle is something completely different (or over the top) a bit disappointing for me sadly

Freestyle performances by Danielle and Johnny -

Danielle, loved it, she is much more animated on the floor than off, such a contrast in her personality. I just wish she had a more "likeable" feel about her. Don't get me wrong, I like her, but something was missing, and with DWTS it is just not the dancing, it is the personality as well, and she was lacking there IMO. Score - 9 10 10 - total 29

Johnny, LOVED IT, full on energy from the get go, bit of a hip hop feel, which comes naturally to him. A great routine, and his pro partner had to learn hip hop This was truly the best Freestyle of the night. Score - 10 10 10 - total 30

So the final scores were - Danielle 84 and Johnny 85 - absolutely nothing in it, so the votes were the clincher and the winner is ;

Johnny Ruffo and his pro partner Luda Kroiter, and I must say they totally deserved it....Sad for Danielle Spencer and Damian Whitewood, but to get to a final on these shows is a great achievement in itself, so no shame there whatsoever..I only hope we have Damian back next year

Rock of Ages, with Julianne Hough as the female lead (sister of Derek and previous dwts pro-dancer). made only 15 million so far and flopped badly, just as I knew it would. Im sorry but she is just not a good actress;I dont know how she keeps getting all these roles when we have actresses who are far more talented than her:confused oh yeah , I know why

A bit sad for Damian but he did well for getting her that far. I get what you say about her personality/and her not being likeable enough. I saw some of her dances and videos of the show and she struck me a little as a bit as cold and going through the motion(but the big difference was that she was like another person on the floor) so sadly I think that the audience didnt connect with her, me neither.

I love the winner's freestyle(thanks for the link). Amazing and he totally deserved to win.

Once again I cannot emphasize this enough, at the end of the day personality and freestyle are very important and the dancing becomes a bit secondary to those 2.
And for a woman to win (which is extremely difficult) she needs to have a combination of great personality/freestyle/dancing;not one without the other.

Btw that Johnny Ruffo is HOT and can dance.I was just looking at him during the chacha challenge

One more thing, I find their audience a little more subdued compared to our Dwts or SCD audience.

Think Johnny won it on his freestyle, up until then, I would have placed Danielle, Zoe and then Johnny in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Interesting to see them cha cha cha together, Zoe and Johnny have natural rhythm but it was more apparent that Danielle was stiff hipped and not such a natural mover. Thought Damian could have picked a better freestyle for her, as I didn't think she is quite as good at latin, and the routine didn't wow me. Zoe's freestyle, a case of deja vu think they borrowed that choreography from somewhere else, racking my brains to think where, very familiar, may have been SYTYCD or something like that. Johnny had the advantage, as he went back to his hip hop style, so not so hard for him to dance, it was the most entertaining though.

It does go to show that freestyle can help you lift the mirror ball trophy, Danielle was generally consistently the better dancer technically, but I agree wasn't such a sparkling personality, that probably didn't win her enough votes.

Yes Livvy struggled with the top notes, oh dear. Haven't seen the Burn the Floor routine as no one on Youtube has uploaded it, still got a taste of it on Good Morning tv.

Think I've vaguely remembered where Zoe's freestyle choregraphy came from. A couple of years ago there was a dance programme on tv for european and other top dancers from around the world, The show looked a bit Eurovision in style, as I recall and one of the pro couples did a very similar routine I think. Was it the year Brendan and Camilla represented the UK or am I getting muddled anyone know?
