Anybody else noticed this model sometimes misses a record schedule when the guide sticks, or records the programme and also records it again on the +1 channels???

If you are using the 8-day Guide then you can expect failed recordings. TUTV have yet to produce a reliable software version for use on the 8-day Guide.

yes i am using 8day guide, would it be better to use the 14day one, or upload V4.34 software instead of latest v7.09 ?

V.34 won't be any better than V7.09. There has been only one Version which was anywhere near acceptable. I forget which it was but it was in the 5,?? range.

The 14-day guide will provide much better reliability but unfortunately you will lose the Freeview+ Accurate Recording capability so you will miss programme content if programmes start early or finish late. You can add additional recording time at the beginning and end to mitigate this but that means you will have to scroll through the recording to find the true beginning of the programme. Also as the 14-day guide is downloaded only once per day it will not pick up any broadcaster changes to the schedule during this period.
