Fun. is an indie pop/alternative rock band from New York.

We Are Young has been #1 in US iTunes for most of the past month, and it finally topped the Billboard Hot 100 this week. The song is also #1 on iTunes in Australia.

Do you think this song could be successful in the UK?

Love this! It's so uplifting. I think it could be HUGE in the UK.

I actually much prefer the Glee version, this is still great, I just loved their version a bit more.

This will probably be number one in the UK-I think it will be appealing to a wide audience and there is definitely a shift happening now in term's of mainstream musical tastes so its timing couldn't be better.

There are parts of the song which I absolutely love, but there are a lot of parts too where I'm kind of thinking "Come on... get to the good bit" and it seems like a bit of a chore.

I can't remember feeling like that about a song in a long, long time.

Sounds like a Supertramp album track from the late 1970s..but it's a good song.

8/10

Love this song, definitely think it'll be a UK #1. I knew it before Glee, so I guess in a sense I'm glad Glee give it a needed push or else it would have got nowhere. Janelle is awesome on it

I bought this back in November 2011, when it did sweet FA in the UK.

I'm glad the Americans have better taste than the UK. Maybe Janelle Monae will finally blow up huge globally in 2012 with a forthcoming album release.

It's a good song. I'm sure it'll be #1 here. It's shaping out to be one of the biggest songs of 2012!!!

i like the song and i hope it does well in the UK. But just a weird thing i find with the song - i've listened to it a number of times and i never knew Janelle Monae featured as an artist - she hardly makes much of an impact imo :L but i think she definitely deserves some commercial success, her album The Archandroid is great

The song's alright. I'm not going to buy it but I don't hate it - it's certainly a lot better than Gotye. Anything that could make Janelle Monae more well known has my support though.

Amazing that songs like this can still top the US chart!

I can see this being the new Fireflies in a way. I'd love it to be a UK No.1 as well, but no doubt there'll be a whole bunch of held-back releases to stop it getting there (although I also thought that would happen to Gotye.......apparently not! )

Regardless, it'll be a massive-seller

This X a million. I LOVE her. She's electric. I hate UK radios for not playing her, especially 1xtra. I mean she was a guest on their show for goodness sake! Glad it's her first US number one. And hopefully one of many.

Well, this song itself is being held-back. It was on UK iTunes last year, and once it started getting big in the US it got removed.

You're right on that I guess I'm just wondering if it'll have a similar release to Gotye and Taio Cruz (Hangover), and climb its way up the UK chart, with its airplay increasing over time
