I have a Samsung (Le32r87bd) TV and a Curtis Blu-ray player with surround sound cinema system (DVD8532UK). I can control my surround sound volume fine when playing a dvd, but when i want to use my surround sound for my TV/Xbox I cannot adjust the volume. The Xbox and the dvd player are connected by HDMI leads to my TV, I also have Audio outs from the TV going to the Sub.
thanks
tom

Use the volume control on the home cinema to control the volume of the audio that it is outputting - regardless of what the source is.

Looking at the manual the sub does look to have an audio input but, it tells you to connect it to the audio output on the player, as it does for the 5.1 outputs/inputs. This comes under the heading 'routing audio to other devices', I couldn't find anything that reffered to connecting external equipment to the system for audio playback through the system. There is no source button to select which tells the system to use a particular input for audio playback.

To me it looks like you won't be able to route the TV/Xbox through this system. I have left a link to the manual below if others want look and check/correct what I have said, maybe I have missed something.

I agree with your assessment. There does not seem to be any means to connect the TV audio to the system. Which is fairly typical of equipment at this end of the market unfortunately.

Who wrote the manual? Connecting via composite will give HiFi colour reproduction, digital coaxial provides best PQ and there is a risk of explosion is the remote is left in the sun.

And check out the diagram of the back of the sub on page 4. Apparently the 5.1 input has just two phonos and the stereo one six.

So it does.

I dare not look at the network connections, they'll probably suggest connecting directly to the box at the end of the street.
