Head boy and girl = Joshua and Jessica for me.
I thought Deandre did well, his was one of the more entertaining numbers, and he even sounded vaguely like Stevie at the start.
Erika did well too, but this is the second time running she's sounded a little muted, as if she's toning things down to sound more feminine, appealing and commericial. She's only just succeeding in not coming across as bland.
Skylar turned in another solid and entertaining performance. She has possibly the best versatility of them all, and true crossover commerciality. I've decided she looks like a young Paula Abdul.
Hollie can certainly hit the notes, but IMO getting there is usually a problem, her voice/control at the start of every lyric is awkward. She's like an amateur ice skater who throws a little wobble at every skate off but is fine once underway.
Elise sounded like she was fighting the song rather than singing it - the fight ended in a bit of a draw.
Phillip was a huge disappointment, I'd even go as far as to say X Factor Olly's version was better. No_groove.
Shannon reminded me last week of a 16-year-old prom queen having her big moment on stage, and this week continues this feeling. The song was at least 4 sizes too big for her.
Of the three breathy-tone boys, Colton, Jeremy and Heejun, the latter possibly did best, but I have always liked that song.
Jermaine chose a forgettable number where part of the lyrics mentioned not wanting to bore people but I suspect half of America may have felt that that way about him.
Bottom dwellers: Jeremy, Jermaine & Shannon (with Colton and Phillip surviving on looks). Of these Jeremy has the 'good-hearted lad' thing going to help him scrape by, Jermaine is the mamma's boy/comeback kid, so I'll predict it's bye bye Shannon.
