I liked both Josh and Hollie the best but I voted for Hollie

I was surprised by Heejun because I actually really liked his performance

The disappointment of the night would be Shannon because I thought she would be one of the best ones but her performance wasnt that great.

I would the bottom guy and girl for me would be DeAndre and Shannon with Shannon going home

ahh firmly on Team Colton Thought this week was going to be really tough on him with his style of voice but he pulled it off; he wasnt perfect, but the last half of that song with the falsetto at the end was awesome! and boy does he know how to work the camera!!! smouldering looks or what!!

I preferred it to Stefano and Marcus versions on idol and x factor respectively

I love Erika as well, but i think she will be in trouble, also Joshua but the curse of being first may put him in trouble

I think bottom 2 will be Jermaine and Erika but Jermaine will go definetly; I think unless Colton, Phillip or Heejun hit the B2 it will definitely be a boy going tonight

It's a boy vs girl bottom 2, with the judges deciding who is sent home.

Hollie was my favourite, with Colton a close second.

Head boy and girl = Joshua and Jessica for me.

I thought Deandre did well, his was one of the more entertaining numbers, and he even sounded vaguely like Stevie at the start.

Erika did well too, but this is the second time running she's sounded a little muted, as if she's toning things down to sound more feminine, appealing and commericial. She's only just succeeding in not coming across as bland.

Skylar turned in another solid and entertaining performance. She has possibly the best versatility of them all, and true crossover commerciality. I've decided she looks like a young Paula Abdul.

Hollie can certainly hit the notes, but IMO getting there is usually a problem, her voice/control at the start of every lyric is awkward. She's like an amateur ice skater who throws a little wobble at every skate off but is fine once underway.

Elise sounded like she was fighting the song rather than singing it - the fight ended in a bit of a draw.

Phillip was a huge disappointment, I'd even go as far as to say X Factor Olly's version was better. No_groove.

Shannon reminded me last week of a 16-year-old prom queen having her big moment on stage, and this week continues this feeling. The song was at least 4 sizes too big for her.

Of the three breathy-tone boys, Colton, Jeremy and Heejun, the latter possibly did best, but I have always liked that song.

Jermaine chose a forgettable number where part of the lyrics mentioned not wanting to bore people but I suspect half of America may have felt that that way about him.

Bottom dwellers: Jeremy, Jermaine & Shannon (with Colton and Phillip surviving on looks). Of these Jeremy has the 'good-hearted lad' thing going to help him scrape by, Jermaine is the mamma's boy/comeback kid, so I'll predict it's bye bye Shannon.

It's a bottom 2 and the judges decide? I like the idea as after what happend with Pia last year it shows that the voters can't be 100% trusted to choose who goes home

I think it's just for tonights result because of the Boy vs Girl different theme things.

Elise is my favourite after their performances last week though I also like Jermaine, Phil Phillips and Heejun (with the right song) Angels didn't suit him at all. I'd agree with a previous poster that Phil Phillips wasn't good on the live shows but on past performances I still rate him.

I watched the show. Not seen any of it this year, so just giving it a chance.

It was a little boring. Not bad, but only a few jumped out.

I liked Hollie, Jessica. Skylar has a nice voice though I'm still not sure about her.

From the boys I kind of liked Philip, Deandre, Colton. But a bit boring mostly. I hope a boy goes because it'd be a nice change for the first week.

Jessica was note perfect, amazing performance.

Male performance of the night was probably Phillip.

Think it's between Shannon/Erika and Jeremy/Jermaine

Jessica, Hollie and DeAndre killed it. Damn Shannon what the hell happened? The song killed her, it completely chewed her up. She'll definitely be out tonight.

I'm not sure about Elise. I'm not keen on her. I see she is getting pegged in with Haley Reinhart, but I definitely think Haley did the song better.

I actually think some of my favourite bits came from Mary, everytime she got over excited, getting up with DeAndre and trying to hold in her 'eeks' haha. Can we keep her and give her Jennifers seat

Who blew you away?
Jessica, was a captivating performance and great control of her voice.

Who surprised you the most?
Hollie, thought she was just a sweet harmless girl but she was out to impress tonight.

Who was a disappointment?
Shannon (oh dear, lost control of the song) and Elise (looked defeated from the get-go)

Which guy and girl do you think will end up in the bottom 2?
Jeremy (sorry but he's the least interesting out of everybody) and Elise/Erika (have trouble telling these two apart sometimes, and one lost their confidence this week and the other hasn't proven they have a loyal fanbase)

Jessica blew me away - she was almost note perfect on I Will always Love you and that is pretty amazing, especially given her age. There aren't many professional singers out there that could have performed the song better than she did.

Deandre surprised me - I haven't been a huge fan of his yet, but he had loads of groove and didn't rely so much on his falsetto last night and really won me over - great performance.

Skylar surprised me a bit by doing a great job with a ballad, which I hadn't seen her do so far.

I like Joshua, Elise and Erika and they were all solid / good, but didn't really do anything unexpected. Elise didn't seem to enjoy her performance though for some reason.

Who surprised you the most? Jessica, I knew she could sing but when I saw she was going to sing I Will Always Love You I though ut oh because very rarely does anyone do that song any justice. But she was really amazing, and she's only 16!

Who was a disappointment? Shannon for obvious reasons, and Jeremy too - I found his performance rather dull.

Which guy and girl do you think will end up in the bottom 2? Jeremy and Elise. I like Elise but during her performance it just seemed like she was in a strop. She didn't know the song and clearly didn't want to sing it and, unfortunately, that came across in her performance.

Who blew you away? Jessica - WOW!
Who surprised you the most? Colton - Yum!
Who was a disappointment? Shannon - Outatune!
Which guy and girl do you think will end up in the bottom 2? Jeremy and Shannon - Whoaretheweakestlinks Wouldn't surprise me if Elise is voted as the weakest girl though as not sure she has the same level of support as Shannon? Personally I love Elise's voice, but last night was not great. Hoping she's safe.

Jessica. Not quite as good in that performance as the judges were making out but still astonishing for 16. I think she could even be the best contestant ever on the show.

Also have to say that after watching x-factor usa (and uk for that matter) it is now clear that Ryan Seacrest is utterly brilliant at his job (which I am sure is much harder than it looks).

Philip again. Jessica was fantastic vocally, but she's not really to my taste musically.

Colton, Hollie, Deandre, Skylar and Erika all stepped it up. Elise wasn't great this week, but she and Philip remain my favourites - I'd be most likely to like their music after the show moreso than any other contestants.

I though Colton, Joshua, and Deandre were very good, Hollie also. Jessica has undoubtedly got a very good voice, but the song choice was boring and predictable, I felt.

I'm not getting the love for Phil Philips at all. Superstition is one of my all time favourite songs and I thought he shouted through it and made it almost unrecognisable. Not good.

My favourite this year is Joshua - at the moment he's in joint 4th place on the poll
