Channel 4 is to launch a two-hour time-shifted version of More4, paving the way for the launch of repeats station 4seven.

[b]More4 +2 will launch as a holding channel on 16 April, before being converted into 4seven for what is expected to be a June launch. The EPG slot is yet to be confirmed.
What EPG number would be good for this channel?

Would they seriously put More4+2 on Freeview when it doesn't even have More4+1. We've had the EPG (LCN) discussion and the two main suggestions have been 28 (4*7), shunting E4, or 47 (der!)

Edit: just seen the separate thread about this:

Guessing that's not going to appear on Freeview - they only need to placehold on Sky. 4seven might well get LCN47.

Either that or 35 (which is more likely and has definitely been allocated to something within the last couple of months). 45 is off limits.

But 47 is a good LCN for marketing purposes (read the LCN and then the name of the channel to find out why )

Big Deal is closing post-DSO according to DMOL. That leaves Ch 32 vacant (post-DSO), so 4seven as an "associated channel" will most likely end up there. This makes it likely that the Big Deal post-DSO space will be used for 4seven (and More4+2).

Ch 35 is now taken by QVC Beauty (according to DMOL, not near a TV to see if these changes have been made live yet).

More4+2 but no More4+1.

Strange one.

LCN32 Big Deal is still there pre DSO so it wouldn't lose its EPG entry would it?

I think More4+2 and 4seven will get LCN47

And DMOL breaks all the rules promoting QVC Beauty over Gems TV, Rocks & Co, The Zone, price-drop TV, Create & Craft

And Channel 5+1 couldn't get 35 either, so how long has this been earmarked for QVC Beauty?

Not sure. I suppose it depends if pre- and post- DSO allocations are treated as separate entities. If Big Deal have said they have no intention of broadcasting post-DSO then it could have been de-allocated for a post-DSO channel only.

They were complaining, and asociated channels are allowed to leapfrog a bit.

MR Cathode i have just been on your very useful website and noticed a couple of mistakes.

Under freeview spare LCN you have put & and 45 (it should say 8 45) that for the local TV. also you put 302 as a spare LCN which is also wrong hope you don't mine me pointing theses small mistake out keep up the good work.

With QVC Beauty moving to LCN35 does this mean that there will not be a tellyshopping section when DMOL make the EPG reshuffle? later in 2012.

Both price-drop tv and Create & Craft had better claims on LCN35 as associated channel status, as they had been there longer.

I suspect that when the teleshopping genre starts up, that QVC Beauty will sit next to QVC as well.

Why did this happen? Because QVC is a client of both SDN and Arqiva who have 50% of votes on DMOL. As ITV owns SDN, its votes via D3&4 tip the balance.

At least we know that 4seven will get LCN47.

Has LCN795 gone yet?

@tomee this is not the right place to discuss my website.

Further to the above posts DMOL are saying that they have removed Big Deal from COM5 or Arq A but have shown it removed from COM6 or Arq B. LCN795 was on COM5 and maybe the DMOL webmaster has got it wrong.

Can someone on post DSO check whether LCN32 Big Deal on Arq B exists or not and the same for LCN795 Big Deal on Arq A?

I can confirm that LCN32 Big Deal still exists on pre DSO Mux C 3am-5am according to the EPG although the caption states "Tune in at midnight".

If Big Deal has gone from Arq B, it could signal Al Jazeera going 24/7 on post DSO as previously discussed. Any info on the post DSO LCN89 EPG?

795 is gone, but I don't know how long it has been gone for. Ch 32 is still there. Hmm, maybe they've accidentally removed the COM6 version from the website and it is only 795 that has gone.

The only reason I can think of for QVC Beauty being allowed to jump channels to LCN 35 is that QVC are probably complaining most about the new shopping genre which will hopefully be coming to EPG's soon, as they have most to lose with QVC currently being on a very good LCN. So maybe they agreed to the new genre as long as QVC Beauty was moved up the EPG?

Will it show up in Pre-DSO areas as well?

Just in time for London DSO1.
