Mobile internet in Spain
Im on holiday in Alicante end of April and was wondering the best way to still receive an Internet connection while on holiday in Torrevieja, in Alicante. Ive got an iPhone 3gs, and use Giff Gaff sim which doesnt allow roaming, so Id imagine the best way is to buy a sim over there, but which one? Could I get a cheaper 3G dongle and take my laptop?
Im stuck! |

We go to a tiny village in the Alpujarras every year and there are three cafes/bars within 2k with free wifi. I just take my netbook or phone a bar in the evenings. i wouldn't even think of paying for roaming!

I imagine Torrevieja will have plenty of bars, coffee shops and bakeries that offer free wi-fi. You won't need 3G.

Doubt you'll need to buy one with the amount of free wi fi available but there are shops selling sims all over the place so don't worry.
I would buy a call only simm for calls home and use free wi fi for your emails etc. |

I used to live in Torrevieja and I found wifi to be patchy at least - go to a "the phone house" store. found in places like carrefour sometimes and pick up a Spanish Yoigo SIM, and ask them for Bono 8.. it will give u unlimited data, u get 500mb data at full speed then the rest is slowed down but its a good way of doing it... there are also other options but I find that to be good.
to buy the SIM u need a passport and a Spanish address (u can use the address of your hotel too) or u can use this special roaming SIM that comes with 1gb data, and 300mb at full speed: http://www.holidayphone.co.uk/produc...category_id=20 - Yoigo is a better deal for data but the above includes mins and texts. hope that helps, and gives u an option
