Every time I switch the TV on... they are always there. I seriously don't see the point in them? Even though I can't really stand The Wanted or One Direction, at least those two are actually onto something and are making an attempt on the States.

They're not pointless too my 9 year old niece! They're her reason for living!

I've got to say out of all the current pop triteness out there, I prefer JLS to all the Rihannas/GaGas/Ed Sheerans out there, they're str8 up pop fluff with some decent songs.

As a 20 year old, I say yes absolutely.

Ask a 7 year old girl and you'll get a totally different answer. They'll pass in time, I'm sure.

Im not a JLS fan..but i think they are much better compared to 1D and the wanted ..they wasnt manufactured and they was actually friends that formed a band before they went on X factor, and they wrote all the tracks on there first album except one.

No way! It's always OD I see on the TV, and I wanna see more JLS!

They're the most talented, most down to earth and best looking out of the three bands, and I feel that they have the most genuine connection! I hardly hear about them anymore because of all this OD hype! I personally think they deserve the most success because they put themselves together and also, they do a LOT of work for charity.

Love them and will forever be a JLSter!

I don't like them but they're better than One Direction. That said, The Club Is Alive was an absolutely dreadful song.

..They are just here temporarily to appease a demographic, by 2016-17 their CDs will end up in the same place that CDs from 5ive, Damage, Another Level, Blazing Squad and Blue's did....a Car Boot sale in Basildon with a 15p sticker on them.

I confess...I only really like them because of Marvin.....they can sing OK and have a few decent songs but that's it imo.

They are pretty dreadful, give me the wanted or one direction any day over JLS's generic trash.

If they had continued the kind of style of the debut album, I'd say no but as they are now yes!!

Their debut sold so well and they got complacent when they released their second & third albums thinking it would sell just as well.. Aston is very very talented, him and Nathan from TW are the two best singers out of the current crop of boybands but their material lets them down.. I want to see the JLS that saw them singing Boyz II Men, Michael Jackson style music not the style of music they have chosen..

If they go back to basics though on this upcoming album they could have another decent selling album!!

Well they are obviously very popular, so that makes your thread a complete waste of time and a LOT more pointless than them.

Apparently they are, they have been working with r&b songwriters like Babyface. I agree that they are much more talented than the material they have produced.

Firstly i'm not a big fan but having seen there recent interviews and taking out the music. Just on personality JLS do come across a lot less cocky (TW) or having the air of 'why wouldn't we have success or be huge' (1D).
It's obvious that out of the 3 JLS have worked the hardest to get there and to stay there also. They have devoted all their time to the British market which although isn't perhaps the best thing to do is still showing they are trying to lay down a strong foundation.
I'm happy TW have had success but i think unlike JLS who seem quite grounded any little success the Wanted have tends to overinflate their egos, they seem to be a bit more bolder/cocky in their statements more so after having a hit in America. TW don't have the likeability factor imo whereas JLS do and are humble too. If they had the hit in America would TW congratulate them or just fire some trash comments their way like they have in the past for 1D and JLS.
JLS might be pointless but i believe they are in music for the right reasons.

I'm not a big fan and didn't like them on XF, but when I found out why they started the group (oritse's mum) it was really nice. They put themselves together (unlike the other 2) and have tried to write on their albums, and work well as a group and can harmonise well, and have come very very far from the XF days. Shame they didn't go international, IMO beat again could've been a US hit if they'd got hype, they'd be seen as the new Boyz II men.

It's not released until the 18th, but I think it's a sure fire number one!

Amen to that

I'm just surprised that JLS have released 8 singles, and 5 have went straight to number one, and many thought OD would blow them out of the water, but they've released 3 singles and only 1 has went to the top! Quite surprising as I thought every OD single would sell massively and all reach the top of the charts because of their obsessed fans!

I think JLS will have the biggest career out of the 3 bands in the UK(I can't see TW or OD getting 5 no1s here!), and the other 2 will be more successful internationally

Anyone who has a fanbase clearly isn't pointless. The fact they're not to your personal taste is neither here nor there.

Surely music like this can be seen as a way to get people interested in music. Most people will outgrow boy bands, but by then they should have developed their own tastes and be able to move on. Maybe this entry level music can be seen as an introduction to music and therefore not pointless after all.

So much potential on X-Factor.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMUKlCaF9aM

And they release trash like 'She Makes Me Wanna' and 'The Club Is Alive'.

If you're a man you're always going to say a boyband is pointless! Give it some thought and you'll realised that half the population are female and they like something to look at and swoon over. Can't do that over Marilyn Manson (although I guess there are some weird women out there who do). I mean look at Coldplay. Great music yes but they ugly.
