Sony Ericsson every time for me!

Good features, smart looking phones, intuitive operating system and menus.

Nokias tend to be overpriced and as someone said earlier on in this thread, they have a nasty habit of releasing loads of phones that look slightly different, but have all the same features. Small screens are common among all the Nokias I've used, with the exception of some of the larger phones. Common as muck as well!

Motorolas are some of the slowest phones I've used. Admittedly my last was a T720, but that put me off for life. I've recently been playing about with a new V3 Razr, and was not in the least bit impressed. The O/S and menus have stayed fairly static for the last few years, and give the user nothing new to experience.

I had an Ericsson T68 back in 2003. The colour screen, though put to shame by today's standards, was good, and the joystick was a pleasure to use. Luckily SonyEricsson have carried on with this, and it's still a big part of their phones.

I'll stick with SE for as long as I can!

Nokia is undebatably the best! With easy to use lay outs, and stylish up to date phones that keep workin for years and years

My first phone was a Vodafone Nokia 2210i
Then a series of sim-free phones
Motorola StarTac (ugh)
Nokia 8850 (was stolen)
Nokia 8910 (excellent)
An T610 free upgrade from Vodafone (put away after a day!)
Nokia 6600 (a v. reliable brick)

and now

Vertu Ascent (Blue), a birthday pressie from my lovely girlfriend.
The Acent is beautifully built and a delight to use. The sound quality, range and battery life are exceptional. The concierge service is everything that Vertu says it is. I love it, I wouldn't expect everyone else to understand.

i looked at the Vertu specs, 173g and it's supposed to be a mobile?!

it has bluetooth i'll give it that...

but no MP3 playback/ringtone capabilities, camera, not very long standby time in the battery compared to a "proper mobile"

sounds like it's very similar to a cordless house phone!

I voted Nokia as it is the phone I have had the most and the one I have most enjoyed using. I hated motorola but it has been years since I have had one of their phones so they may have changed.

I had the panansonic X70 and I am really proud of myself for not putting it into the oven and watching it melt just for the pleasure and vain hope that it might feel some pain.

Absolutley HATED that phone.

with the samsung phones, i like how they will hang for ages on 1 bar of battery and still be usuable

phones such as: Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola dont. with one of those, if the battery is on 1 bar, you only have to touch 1 button and it kills it.

also i like the fact that with the samsungs, the backlight "auto dims" when "Battery Low" comes up. also on these, if you try to use the MP3 player or camera, it'll say "Battery Low" (my E350 does all that). i do know that if i want to kill the battery to give my E350 a full charge, just play a game (thats one thing the phone will let u do when the battery is low)

There is nothing wrong with Nokias. I find the new ones a bit too fragile and gimmicky, give me an older nokia anyway (preferably monochrome).

I have a 6310i. It works, does everything I need to. Bluetooth and GPRS is rock solid, excellent battery life on the original 3-year old battery.

I also have a 6600. It works too, does more than the 6310 - not very gimmicky. I have many applications on it and it's very stable. It is tempermental when using bluetooth / GPRS sometimes but most of the time it is ok. Reasonable battery life but not something to write home about.

The new ones are too expensive, fragile and gimmicky - I don't want 1.3mp cameras or mobile TV or MMS. I want a phone that does phone calls, the once yearly text message, GPRS, bluetooth or infrared.

Nokia for me although I'm very happy with my Sony Ericcson D750I/K750i along with Samsung most reliable phone manufacturers

The worst for me is Motorola my first brick phone at the age of 9 Broke 11 months later, then last Year had a Motorola V600 which got scratched so easily and also broke charger port, same thing happened with my Dad who also had the Motorola V600

Definatly motorola

Ive had phones from many manuracturers but keep on going back to motorola

I dont like nokia's and one of my mates cannot wait for his contract with vodafone to end just so he can upgrade to get rid of his nokia.

My old motorola was also very robust came out of my pocket at 70MPH rolled down the road and suffered many scratches but still worked perfectly after I put the battery back in.

Through the years I have had Teletal, Motorola's, Nokias, Sony Ericsson's and Samsungs and the phones I have been most happy with are the Sony Ericsson phones (or just Sony as they were when I first used them).

So, I chose Sony Ericsson, second place I would put Samsung (I have a D500 now) and I'd never touch Nokia again as they are so boring and I have grown to hate them with a passion over the years!

Nokia for me

I read a few posts and saw a strange trend.
- Those that like Nokia, mostly just say that they like it, and thats it.
- Those that like other brands, tend to say that they hate Nokia.

Hate is a strong word but I certainly wouldn't want to go back to primitive Nokia phones again unless they change the way they make and market their phones.

samsung.

i had an E700 up untill just before christmas, dropped it in the bath 3 times & it still works. my mam's using it now.

and the D600 is just fantastic, battery on it lasts forever.
the camera is just beautiful & the sound on mp3 playback, exellent.
they're simple to use but don't treat you like an idiot.

motorola, i find, are damn near impossible to work, they break far too easily n'all.
nokia, feel cheap & nasty, plus all the ones i've had the batteries needed to be taped in, and the ringer just up & stopped working on my 5110 and 3310.

Sony Ericsson for me

Had a T68i, T610, K700i and now on a K750i

I've had perfect (and feature-complete) Bluetooth support on every SE I've owned. That's really important to me as I use Bluetooth to auto-synch between my phone, Mac and iPod. Also good to send and read SMS's via the OS X Address Book rather than the phone itself.

The interface on my K750 is well laid-out, stylish and speedy. I love the shortcut menu customisability. The way that contact info is stored on the phone also directly maps to how my Mac's address book and the iPod store it -- multiple numbers against each individual (home, fax, work, other, etc), full street address information, email address and web page links all work seamlessly across all my devices. Tasks and appointments also integrate fully with the iCal application and the alarm/calendar function on the iPod.

Basically I feel like I'm guaranteed to have good compatibility with Sony Ericsson. I wouldn't give up the unity between all my devices for anything!

I've always had a problem with the power adaptor connection to the phone with Motorolas.

I also think that the menus on Nokia are too basic.

I've voted for Sony Ericsson. I had a K750i which was the best phone I've ever had. I've now got a V600 and I think a few years ago I had a V66.
