Your top 5 GaGa songs?
What are your top 5 GaGa songs and why?
1) Marry the Night - Although not a huge commercial success I love this song, I love the video and the choreography and the breakdown at the end gives me shivers. Its an anthem. It still annoys me that she didn't do the performance she did at the EMA's at the X Factor Final, that performance in front of 17 million people would have been epic imo. 2) Pokerface - Classic GaGa, great pop song, great video, still insanely catchy 3 years later. 3) Edge of Glory - Again not a huge commercial success it was wasted as a promotional single, I still think its a fantastic song with a lovely meaning. 4) Bad Romance - Huge song, one of the best pop songs of the decade, brilliant video and incredibly catchy. 5) You and I - Again not a commercial success but shows another side of GaGa, she has sole writing credits for this song and again I think its a fantastic song that deserved to chart better. Good video and she sings it amazingly live at the piano. Your turn... |

These are my top five and I list them because each one came at a time when pop needed to be brought back to the radio and Gaga was the one to do it.
1) Just Dance 3) Love Game 3) Pokerface 4) Bad Romance 5) Paparazi |

Just 5? Ok...
1. Bad Romance - It's mental, it's amazing and has more hooks than you can shake a stick at. Everything about it is brilliant and I simply do not trust anyone who doesn't like it. 2. The Edge of Glory - Such a strong chorus, and I'd even go as far as saying it's got an "epic" quality. I love how it combines anthemic 80's stadium rock sensibilities with sledgehammering beats of the now, yet remains quite bittersweet and kind of moving. Having a saxophone solo from Clarence Clemons was just the icing on the cake. 3. Paparazzi - Pop heaven tbh. Not only was the song catchy, quirky and fresh, but the performances and video just really took the Gaga experience to another level. 4. Poker Face - It's just one of those songs that can be both a club anthem and an instant pop classic too, refusing to leave your brain in the process. 5. Born This Way - Flawed, of course, but by god that's a catchy hook. After being unsure at first, it's relentless campy drive and feel-good factor won me over and it's now one of my favourites from her. |

'Bad Romance' is the only song she's recorded that'll last even if she doesn't.
With possibly 'Poker Face' and 'The Edge of Glory' as well, but I don't like the former and the latter may just drift off as it was nowhere near as big as the other two (quite unrightfully), so 'Bad Romance' it is. My favourite's 'Alejandro' but whatever. |

1. The Edge of Glory - it's fun, catchy, emotional, epic, thunderous, subtle, sad, happy... just.. wow.
2. Born This Way - you haven't heard it until you've heard it live and it just makes your insides shiver. Ooh, there ain't no other way. 3. Poker Face - Just for the opening 16 bars, and the bridge, really. 4. Telephone - Hope to hear this live one day. Such a heart attack of a song/collab. 5. Electric Chapel - it contains her least pop elements, but maintains the catchy hooks. Captivated would be on there as a romantic bucket of slush, but she wasn't Gaga then. |
