geordielady I really do think your opinion on any music is just irrelevant. You can't see other peoples points of view and if they talk bad about Taylor damn. You seem the type of person if Taylor died you'd contemplate your own life.

Where is your proof?

Like it or not asia is up and coming and a far bigger market to tap then Europe amd thats where US artists want to hit and expand into, its where the future is, the future of music certainly is not in the UK anymore.

But this is all pointless to this thread, taylor is the biggest money making artist in the world right now, but its not really surprising is it. And as Garth brooks said, the taylor juggernaut is only just starting to roll, her success on all levels will go balistic over the next 5 years or so, on the female music front there will be no one to touch her.

No, because the only places that matter are places where St Taylor is popular. Obviously.

here are the 2009 figures from

http://www.riaj.or.jp/e/issue/pdf/RIAJ2011E.pdf

page 24

europe 440 million cds sold - asia 192 million cds sold
total retail spend ($) europe 7.6 billion - asia - 4.7 billion

europe is the worlds biggest music market, now are you going to admit you are talking absolute nonsense as usual or are you going to run and hide like you always do

I am really surprised by those figures (not disputing them by the way), never thought Japan and Germany would be so high...................but I think we steal more music in this country..............don't quote me on that as I have no proof.

Germany's sales aren't higher it's just that they charge way more than here so the market is worth more.

You clearly dont understand that for the biggest stars on the planet its not about album sales as very little income comes from album sales it comes from touring and asia as well as south america are two parts of the world where the big US stars want to tap into as much as possible, lots of countries lots of fanatical fans and lots of money.

But if you talking about tin pot artists that do nothing then sell albums like adele then guess Europe would be more important but to the stars who offer far more then just album sales other parts of the world are worth far more to them.

But feel free to continue trolling in yet another taylor appreciation thread.

TBH a good education on this for you is iron maiden's recent documentary DVD/blu ray.

absolute lies and nonsense the facts are very clear, see below, the iron maiden tour you talk about has 47 european dates compared to 18 for asia and south america and their music is more popular there than other western artists, the facts below highlight how ridiculous your argument is, read em and weep

6 asia

3. ac/dc 08-10
68 europe
4 south america
3 asia

How can you expect me to response to your posts when you come out with a comment like this, where on earth do you get this stuff from, LMFAO sums it up I think.

And if your gonna talk about a band like Maiden then get the facts right, the european leg of the somewhere back in time tour was not 47 dates in Europe at all, it was a lot less then that, around 20 if memory serves me right.
The whole point of my maiden example and comments on touring asia and SA has clearly been lost on you.

They are popular but not in the Adele league

PS It's clear to everybody but you that Adele is, at the moment, far far more popular and famous than Taylor worldwide and it's not even close! Taylor's only really huge market is the US and she's even getting caned by Londoner Adele sales-wise there FGS. Rest of the world it's not even a contest worth talking about.

PS well done again for ignoring the facts that you can't disprove in robo2's post. Nothing changes, does it?

Why dont you answer the FACTS! Is it because they dont fit your ridiculous agenda? Can you now please admit that you are talking out of your backside when you say no artist wants to sell / tour in europe?

its pretty clear to anyone who can read that geordielady's flimsy arguments have been destroyed in this thread, her nonsense about europe being a less important market than asia/south america have been dismantled on every front

her only argument for taylor swift being bigger than adele is that she made more money in a year that adele didnt tour

arguments for adele being more succesful than taylor

1. sold more albums with 1 album than taylors managed with three
2. 3 us singles no 1's compared to taylors none
3. most grammy awards won by a female in a single night
4. more grammys than taylor 8 to taylors 6
5. more succesful in america than taylor
6. more succesful in every other world market than taylor
7. 74 th most succesful album ever
8.5th most succesful american album ever in terms of weeks at number 1
9. more influential than taylor, more artists and bigger artists say they have been influenced by her than taylor swift
10. more succesful critically than taylor - featured higher up in every end of year poll than taylor except the country ones

Such a hypocrite. Reading your posts are laughable. And with regards the bit in bold, why would they be jealous? Fans of Adele would just enjoy the music, which is what you should be doing with Taylor Swift.

At the end of the day, Taylor is not the biggest selling female artist right now, nor is she the highest grossing female touring act. Not to mention she isn't as internationally famous nor does she have the hits and cultural impact that her apparent "lessors" have.

She's very successful and I'm not trying to discredit that (don't think many here are, really), but claims of her being the biggest female artist in the world are simply not true.

There is not a lot of certainties in life but one thing you can bank on is when a new thread is set up celebrating one of taylors many achievements the very jealous stans of "queen chav" adele will be stamping all over it. But if nothing else it keeps this wonderful unique talents name near the top of DS music forums, not bad for a country who contributes less than 0.1% of her album sales.

Wow, calling Adele a chav.......original. Would be refreshing if you came out with a constructive critique instead of lazy insults.
