Archos Av500 Mobile Dvr
I know this is a rather dated MP4 model - I've had it since 2007 - but it has not been fully operative since purchase and I really should have returned it. There is not a peep coming from the player, despite changing the battery and trying to chatge the inserted one. No indicators are illuminating - it is just dead. Any ideas? I certainly wouldn't buy another archos item after the problems I've experienced with this.
Thanks. |

If someone/thing has really pee'ed you off recently then work out your frustration by smashing the thing into little pieces with the biggest hammer you can find.
Probably all it's good for now ![]() To be serious, I doubt it is worth bothering trying to fix it now, not after 5 years or so. Might not even be able to get the necessary parts anyway, or maybe not at sensible cost. Not unless it's something really simple. For example if it has a connector for an external power supply it is possible the battery feed is switched off by that socket when a plug is inserted. If the plug goes faulty then it could permanently turn the battery off. Not hard to fix if you know which is the right end of a soldering iron but maybe not worth the cost if you have to get someone else to fix it. |

Actually, the first couple of lines of your post make sense! Louise. |
