In his own words.....she categorically does not have a record deal......absolutely, definitely not. Right, that`s us told then. Only the winner will get a deal, no guarantee of any other deals. He sidelined Rowetta slightly (just saying she was good). It was "let`s gush over Steve" time. He even had Fiona sickly gushing how wonderful he was and how she could listen to his voice all night. It really was nauseating He also said that he had chosen a song for Steve this week that would really wind Sharon up (so obviously a classic black soul song He also went on to say that Rowetta and Steve would never end up in the bottom 2. (He needs to hope Steve doesn`t because Sharon and Louis would boot him off)

i read what he said differently-the way i saw it she said something like "your two are steve and rowetta" and he immediately said "i like rowetta" implying to me that she was his favourite anyway-dont forget he didnt even like steve very much during his auditions
and it seemed to me to be fiona mainly gushing about steve

.....but it was Steve`s performance they showed and not Rowetta`s and Fiona also asked to see it again. I guess he wanted to play down his enthusiasm about her after the embarassment of the record deal fiasco.

Did anyone see Simon and Louis on CDUK? When asked which act they thought would win, Louis said 'one of Sharon's, without a doubt'. Simon said 'well, it wont be Louis' fat buskers, that's for sure' and then proceeded to plug Il Divo, saying how they would be the hottest new thing of the coming year and put everything else in the shade.

On This Morning, Verity has said she has a meeting with Simon later in the week to discuss her future. Don't take any notice of Simon saying Rowetta does not have a contract, he said that about the winner of Pop Idol being the only one that would get a contract. He soon changed his mind when Gareth came 2nd.

Simon is telling fibs. I saw his reaction on Friday night when Rowettas manager made the announcement. He was not pleased.

yes i saw them on there - it was so funny, especially when cat deeley kept saying cut back to me to the camera man as they were arguing.

I did laugh at the fat buskers comment even if it was a bit nasty!!
Just 'discovered' Il Divo this morning - fantastic! Simon is right on that one!

slightly off topic G4 should be taking some lessons from Il Divo. Or rather Louis should, as Il Divo look like what G4 looked like at their first auditions, before the Westlifing began.

I thought that basically all the finalists had to sign contracts giving the judges first refusal on them, whether they win or not, and stating that they won't sign with anyone else for something like 3 months after the programme finishes. I may well have got some/all of this wrong though.

I will put the position right. no contract has been offered to Rowetta as yet. she is in the same position as all the other acts and hopes that her talent and personality will win her through in her own right. i do know, being her Mum.

Sounds like a reasonable idea to me and it would make sense of the fact that Sharon seems to be going to sign Roberta. I would think that they are tied until after the live tour as all of them will be expected to do that.
