None of this has ever been proven - nor has the big tax case ... investigations are ongoing as you probably know so that wasn't the reason the club went into administration.

Whyte basically bought us and paid off Lloyds group debt with Rangers future season ticket money and run us into the ground whilst pocketing as much as he could in his short term at the helm ... that is the sole reason we went into administration and then liquidation - let's not try and cloud the issue here and stick to facts.

cant say i feel any sympathy for Inverness, you voted them out of the SPL passing the buck to the SFL and expected them to fall for your bullyboy tactics. if they cant live within their means then their own fault, its not the responsibility of the SFL clubs to look after the finances of clubs in the Self Preservation League.

if they really wanted league reconstruction they wouldnt have waited until they lost their cash cow.

St Mirren brand the decision of the SFL to uphold the integrity of their league as 'horrific'

Call for 'no confidence' in Stewart Regan in wake of Rangers vote

A vote of no confidence in Scottish FA chief executive Stewart Regan was proposed and seconded after Rangers were voted into Division Three.

However, Scottish Football League president Jim Ballantyne felt the meeting of member clubs was not the platform for the issue to be discussed.

Regan wanted Rangers in Division One to protect Scottish Football finances.

But SFL clubs voted 25-5 in favour of Rangers entering the bottom tier of the senior football league set-up.

Strange that the Rangers shareholder didn't think the time was right to discuss Regan.

Their plan backfired they obviously thought the SFL club chairman were stupid hicks and would go for anything they offered, f*** them you lot should just have voted them back in if you thought you were going to lose this much money. Gilmour is a ****

I think there may well be a new vote on Monday, but I think there are enough clubs who will put a stop to any notion of going back on their original vote.

I really don't think that the chairmen could backtrack without there being a huge backlash from their own supporters. The fans would go ballistic. The boycott threats that were made prior to the vote on 4th July, would come back with a vengeance. Personally, I think that this is a non-starter. The SPL and the SFA have been backed into a corner now, and I don't think there is a way for them to get out of it, without seriously damaging football in Scotland. So, they will go with newco starting in the 3rd Division. At the end of the season, however, I expect to see massive changes with the structure, with newco probably ending up as team16 in the SPL. That's, of course, if they survive. At the moment, they haven't even got a team to put out and the season starts in 2 weeks.

Great atmosphere at dens today. Thought dundee played ok in periods today however did united were in second gear a lot of the game.

If dundee come up they will have a chance of staying up but not any higher than that. There is. A vast gulf between the top teams in the spl and the rest which is one of the reasons and extended spl wouldn't work.

United should not be looking to finish any lower than second
Mark.

Decent game, shit result. We were good in spells, but ran out of steam in the end.

I think if we do go up, then the gap won't be as big as it would be under normal circumstances. St Mirren are already talking about "doing all they can" to avoid administration, and the noises from Inverness aren't too positive either.

Time will tell, natch, but I think we're capable of putting up a decent fight.
