Rumours that the SFA will be looking for a new Chief Exec tomorrow - if true it's amazing that the President is still in place.

I just don't understand where this optimisim comes from really, at the moment, with no squad to speak of, they might finish bottom of the league, rather than go up, as many people think!
It isn't a given, but with their support through the turnstyles they will still be the richest club in each of the lower divisions, and money talks.

In the English pyramid when teams have folded or a team from the division below has been refused promotion for not having a ground up to standard etc, it's generally the relegated team that gets a reprieve.
Are you sure? I cannot remember the circumstances, but IIRC, I recall Ron Atkinson (as their then manager) calling for Sheffield Wednesday to be put back up into the top flight having been relegated, because a spare place became available - but it wasn't accepted.

I'm mainly talking about further down in the non-league section of the pyramid but it does happen.

Think I''ll file it beside Richard Gough's "Celtic will never do 9IAR"

And why shouldn't it have been a foregone conclusion? The SPL rules are, for once, quite clear - the club finishing 12th cannot compete in the league in the following season if the "candidate club" from the SFL meet the membership criteria.

So in other words, Jim Duffy doesn't really know anything -- the article doesn't refer to Dunfermline getting in over Dundee, nor does it mention financial problems.

You need help if you're collecting newspaper clippings about you're greatest rivals. The obsession cellik fans have with their Great rivals is seriously unhealthy

As a result of the current financial situation at Celtic, the club will not be replacing Dominic Cervi unless the club reaches the group stage of the CL.
