Anybody changed from O2 sim-only to Tesco sim-only? Shall I take this good offer ?
Hi all,
there is a good offer (at least for me) on the Tesco website at the moment... 12 months sim-only, 250min, 5000sms, 1GB data for a tenner (can be capped at that price, apparently). I am currently with an offer from O2 from 2010, 700min, 1400sms unlimited data for 20 pounds plus vat. As I want to lower costs (hence the tenner is very attractive) without loosing too much of my current allowance (my data average is around 300MB, I try and use mostly wifi) (I never have gone over sms allowance and am nowhere near my minutes, so 250min is sufficient) I wonder if anybody has experience to take the plunge to go and change to Tesco Mobile? Any opinionmuch appreciated ![]() Thank you all! |

It sounds a good deal, the only thing to consider is who is your broadband from. I have my mobile from o2 (which is a little bit expensive) and get broadband from them for only £6.25.

I have Tesco, no problems and it uses O2's network,
Note that there is no call forwarding or call waiting available, should you need it. They currently do an iphone sim only deal (but will work for any phone) and it offers 500 mins, 500 texts, 1Gb data AND unlimited BT Openzone wifi which could be handy for some and it's £12.50 a month on 12 month contract. standard or micro sim available. |

Also I have to say their Customer Service is excellent, they are always very very helpful and all based in the UK, I think Yorkshire as my bro always gets through to northerners :P

Has anybody tried it with a non-iPhone though? That would be interesting to know... especially since iPhones use micro sims... but I would require a normal one... |

Only iphone4 or 4s use micro sims, so any earlier iphone neesds a standard sim.
Over at the Hotukdeals website this £12.50 deal has been mentioned and people have said they use it with non Apple phones as there's little to stop you doing it. I read that they supply standard sim or micro sim depending on which iphone you have, so people just ask for a normal size sim or get a sim converter or get another PAYG tesco sim and ask customer services to pair the account to that SIM instead. However, I've not tried any of this myself, I've got the £10 month for 500min/500text/500MB deal |
