Windows mobile has failed
Looks like its failed along with Symbian:
http://www.gsmarena.com/microsoft_ki...-news-3957.php Wonder of it just leaves Apple IOS to rival with Android and Blackberrys are losing poupulaity but should still fill a niche market. |

Windows Mobile 6.X has been dead for ages now. The market place specifically for that OS was bound to go eventually. Im surprised MS kept it alive this long.
I think you are confusing Windows Mobile 6.X with Windows Phone which is slowly on the up. Android and IOS are still by far the leaders with RIM's Blackberry software falling out of favour (the outage last year really really hurt them) I would be cautious counting MS out of the market though. There new phone OS has a lot of money and expertise behind it, with the imminent release of Windows 8, which is apparently going to be run on PC\Phone\Tablet they are going to do very well. Mike |

I'm glad I never bought a Windows Mobile.
I hope they don't eventually do the same with the Windows Phone 7 store. |

Then when we get to your post you seem to have confused WM 6.x with WP. Which explains why you said failed. Oh dear.

I honestly can't believe you titled your thread. "Windows mobile has failed". Superseded, yes. Finished, yes.
Then when we get to your post you seem to have confused WM 6.x with WP. Which explains why you said failed. Oh dear. ![]() I had a go on the demo Nokia phones at a promo stall recently. As touted elsewhere, they were VERY zippy. I like the interface too, a customisable 'home screen' of links to your favourite people and apps, with more available in menus. Still an Android fan though, and there's not enough there to swap, but wouldn't turn my nose up at a Windows Phone powered 2nd phone. |

Yes, Windows Phone has "failed" just as much as Windows XP has. It has been slowly killed off, yes, but it has not failed...

For me there is only two OS - Android and iOS. Thats not to say the other are not technically good, but the fact remains that developers tend to develop for Android and iOS and so there are alot of Apps I like missing from WP and the others.
