I know for sure he is gay, I know the family and Robin has no qualms about being gay, he is not in the closet.
It is just really nice when a gay man doesn't try to tell the whole world he is gay by being loud and camp and talking with a lisp. The judging panel for this series has been spot on. I stopped watching last year becaiuse of Emma Bunton and Jason Gardiner and their stupid irrelevant comments. Wonder if Robin agrees.

Really, I don't see that at all.
I agree it is nice that Robin's personal life and sexuality has been irrelevant to his career. |

I think the fact that people want to know whether other people are gay or not just shows how much attitudes have moved on down the years. There was a time not so long ago when nobody would have dared ask that question, let alone have expected it to be in the public domain.
As far as I'm concerned asking whether someone is gay is no different than asking whether someone is heterosexual. It's simply an indicator that we acknowledge everyone has different preferences and that we're basically happy about that. Getting all defensive and saying 'it's nobody's business' simply drags the whole issue back into the closet. I agree that if famous people don't want to publicise the private side of their lives they shouldn't have to, but why shout interested parties down for simply asking the questions? |

I always thought Christopher Dean was gay... boy did I get that wrong! I can remember watching Robin when he was a youngster I really don't know if he is gay or straight. He's a brilliant skater and seems a nice man.

So you expect to be able to go on a website to find out if someones gay or not??
Plenty people dont want to broadcast the fact they are gay, would you go on a site to find out if someone was straight?? Seems a really odd thing to do IMO, its nobodys business but theres. Theres a number of the DOI pros that are gay and they dont go shouting it from the rooftops as it has nothing to do with the show or those of us watching. Its their private lives and if they want to keep it private thats upto them. |

Penelope likes to pop into the DOI forum every now and then to post randomly about the show being over. I'm not quite sure what their motives are, but they don't seem sincere.
I agree it is nice that Robin's personal life and sexuality has been irrelevant to his career. PS: Still nobody taking me up on my bet that the show is a goner... |

Speaking back of his experiences in the twentieth century, Robin said: Quote:
I had no idea how huge my win was. I went away to train for the World Championships afterwards. Had I come home I don't know if I would have been able to cope with the tournament. If Robin wanted the public in on his private life, he'd have it in his biography here.I could not believe so many people were interested in me. When something happens like that you want to stop and get it in perspective for yourself. I have never wanted to know about people's private lives. I am interested in what makes them tick, why they do something well. Civil Partnership ceremonies may also include the exhange of rings btw, so the band on the ring finger is not a clue to his being married. |

robin cousins is just robin cousins, his sexuality like anybody else is his own affair. i loathe the way some gay guys go way over the top and need to act a part, why do they need to cash in and advertise their sexuality. Louie spence among others this a lot. so what he is gay i dont give a damn, hetrosexuals dont flaunt their sexuality so why do gay men. i might add its rare to see a lesbian advertise her sexuality it seems to be a gay man thing.

As Robin appeared on Family Fortunes, without a wife of any of his own children, I found myself wondering about his family life too and if he'd been married. Wikipedia normally has a brief section on a public figure's personal life, including any marriages, and he doesn't even have that section.
It's possible that Robin isn't considered famous enough, or interesting enough for anyone to bother doing that section, or perhaps he's always managed to keep it completely private, which probably means he's never been married.

At the end of the day Robin is well known & respected for his achievements & his career. Due to his talents he has no need to talk about his private life if he doesn't wish to do so - he is hardly like the likes of Kerry Katona or Katie Price who have to sell every last aspect of their privacy & dignity cos they have no talent and it's the only way of them staying in magazines etc. and earning money.

just like there are some heterosexuals who don't go on like that all the time there are gay people who are more private people like Louie are OTT and theatrical so it's just part of their personality to "flaunt" and flirt ........ although inspite of this he's pretty private about his personal life and his husband apparently isn't into the whole showbiz thing so Louie respects that and you don't hear much about him |

Who gives a F*** what he is or whether he's married, divorced, single, separated or has kids.... He's an excellent judge who knows what he is talking about and that's what counts. He was also God's gift to skating... |

some heterosexuals do flaunt their sexuality ... anyone who goes on about fancying people, talks and jokes openly about their relationships, getting off with people, sexual innuendo etc

BIB Should read "his civil partner." Marriage isn't legal for Louie and his civil partner here yet.

Jesus Gaydar is not great on DS. Of course he's gay. Who care it makes no difference to anything he does. Nor to my life. this obsession with stars sexuality is getting disturbing.

Anyone know about Ashley?I know it doesn't matter and it's nobody's business whether any of the judges or celebs or anyone else in the world is gay, straight, bi, asexual - I'm just being flippant as was Sydney; at least I think he was

I know people are more than free to bump old threads but not quite seeing the reasons for you bumping this if you find the obsession with the subject as disturbing as you claim. |

Saddened, but perhaps not surprised - to still find threads like this.
2013 - and people are still interested in whether someone is hetro or homo? And - why? A much misquoted comment circa 1910 - It doesn't make any difference what you do in the bedroom as long as you don't do it in the street and frighten the horses." To be perfectly honest - I still don't give a **** what people do in the privacy of their own bedroom - and why should anyone else? |

If if doesn't make any difference to your life why on earth have you dragged up an 11 month old thread to post this fact?

I can remember Robin years ago when he was skating and he made no secret nor fuss then that he was gay.
