If His Steveness got his way...
and destroyed Android, what would happen?
Would those that can't afford an iPhone move to WinMob or back to dumbphones? Would manufacturers return to propriety operating systems and try and build their own app ecosystems? Would Apple then turn their attention to Windows Mobile? Discuss? |

What did he say? Android? Over my dead body?
Now that OEMs pay MS for their patents, MS may actually function as a protection against many Apple attacks anyway.

Well....if Android disappeared tomorrow, Apple's products would still be a poor fit for my needs (I'm sure it was intentionally trolly, but guess what - some people can afford an iphone easily and still wouldn't want one
). Was quite impressed with the Windows Phone I tried at a promo event, super speedy and nice interface. So might give that a go. I think the likes of Samsung/Motorola/HTC would really need to combine forces and either adopt MS phone or a shared new system to get the volume to get developers on board. Possibly with the exception of Samsung, who are doing pretty well, and are doing a decent job of branding and perhaps getting customer loyalty up.But Android's not going anywhere. Market share continues to rise, adopted by nearly every smartphone manufacturer out there, and pushed heavily by 'independent' retailers..... |
