She did a lot of skating in her routine last night, more than in some recent weeks. So I don't see how she can have "started skating less then she did in the beginning". Besides, the amount of skating vs other things in the routine is down to Torvil and Dean.
(The idea that she wasn't completely in the moment is odd as well. The routine flowed smoothly and gracefully. What supposedly showed she wasn't "in the moment"?)
(Another strange comment, in posts from other people, is that Jorgie had the easiest prop. Not according to T&D. They said it was the most difficult.)
I think last nights marks show a fundamental problem with DOI as it is currently done. How can someone be marked down so much for things that are out of their control, such as the amount of technical content or -- much worse -- the number of props they're given?
It was clear that Jorgie's partner, Torvil & Dean, Phil, Robin, and much of the audience struggled to make sense of what happened.
Meanwhile, Louis seems to think his marks should be about whether he personally liked it or was excited by it. That's like if I were an SCD judge and I gave all the hammed-up Charlestons 2 or 3 points max.
