Personally I prefer a bit of everything, as I suspect do the gbp.

and I disagree ... Jorgie can skate but she's quite sloppy .... as Robin has picked up on and told her in the past she doesn't always execute the steps properly ie her crossovers aren't complete, her step sequences aren't very controlled .. compared to Chemmy who is very technical with her actual skating

Ok...not to be argumentative but I completely disagree...watch tonight's performance back and you will see her skating is lovely, her arms are perfect (even with the ribbon) and she looks like a professional skater/ballet dancer. There is no way you can call her 'sloppy' - i'm sorry.

But she couldnt put emotion/expression into a routine with a ribbon? Obviously she must have had so much content to contend with and distract her:yawn:

I liked Chemmy and feel she deserved to go as far as she did. She is one that improved week by week and I think it has done her the world of good. She went out at the rght time imo.

I did watch tonight's performance . and as a skater myself I don't find her skating very strong .... her spin at the end wasn't great at al (two footed and she kept having to give a couple of pushes to keep the momentum going and it was very wobblyl ...... she can do the ballet moves but on skating alone she can skate but she's not as stong as Chemmy for instance who has the speed, strength and control on the ice that Jorgie lacks ... skating isnt' all about arms it's about footwork and execution of the technicalities ie crossovers, use of edges on the skates and skating down into the ice with bent knees etc and Jorgie doesn't have that to the same level as Matt, Chico and Chemmy

Jorgie is great artistically, her positions and things like spirals are great but a lot of her actual skating quality can be hidden by the artistic stuff

I didn't find Chemmys routine bad. It was a solid good routine IMHO.

Regarding the judges, I do see some favoritism towards Chemmy since she is a fellow skater and they are rooting for Team GB in the Olympics.

Although I am not a Chemmy fan, I do repect her for positive attitude. It is not easy being in so many skate-offs and knowing you don't have the public support behind you.
I felt she handled tonights departure with grace and dignity.

I certainly won't take your word for it.

Compared to Matt, Chico and this week's exit Chemmy her technical ability is clearly lacking. As for dance and performance, she couldn't hold a candle to Jen.

I must've heard a different speech to you. The one I heard was all about telling others who are suffering from injury not to give up and that they can be rehabilitated. Not all about herself at all, just using her personal experience as an example.

Admittedly, it didn't follow the usual celeb formula of a tearful, gushing 'thank you' to everyone she's ever met.

Not realy surprising as Jennifer was trained as a ballet dancer, and appeared in the film of Phantom of the Opera.

Perhaps I am wrong but Robin was one of the judges that voted her out tonight. As for your point about Zara Phillips it is at best deperate imo and rather pathetic. Once again imo your whole post is bitter and bitchy.

i agree totally with the above.

And I'm so glad that even skating in what looked like her underwear didn't get her enough votes to stay out of the bottom 2.

I am sad to see Chemmy go. Her skating was fantastic from day 1 but she's really improved her performances for me - great acting tonight for me. Jen should really have left this week - would far rather have seen Chemmy tackle the ultimate skills than her. Chemmy of course isn't as graceful as Jen or Jorgie but given they have had years of dance training it is unfair to expect her too - it would be like expecting Jen & Jorgie to be brilliant downhill skiers.

I don't get the bile on here about her - she isn't full of herself. look at her when Seb had his meltdown and she really threw herself into te team routine with the others last week.

She deserved to make the top 4 more than Jen, I saw next to no skating ability from her tonight :sleep:

Yeah she is a bit overconfiddent but so what? would you rather have her saying "I'm crap"

What's wrong with women being confident? If it was a man in her shoes I bet no one would really care.

Exactly. It is almost always the same imo attractive confident females always get a bad deal on this type of show.

I thought she was good week one, but she has not developed any grace or precision! Her arms are always a mess, her lines are not good (not sure what Louie was watching tonight). She has the skills but sadly she has never managed a clean skate!

That is prob the most feeble excuse imaginable for saying you dont like her, Imo you should be ashamed with coming away with line about her outfit,

I don't see Chemmy as bad..yeah, she probably could improve her grace on the Ice, but that was always going to be hard considering that she comes from a sports background, and its always tough to break from that. Matt & Jorgie etc, they have dance backgrounds which makes that part of DOI easy for them.

What I like about Chemmy, is she was independent on the ice. she didn't rely on her partner, she wanted to have speed across the ice, she wanted to learn the tricks. She had a nice determination about her, instead of a self-pitying attitude that she so easily could of adopted with her situation.

She was always charming in interviews, a real team player, and I love how she supported Seb when he broke down by trying to shout out the moves at him, despite it risking her own position in the competition.

I thought Chemmys routine was great tonight. Full of personality and she dealt with her myriad of props really well and executed a great step sequence. She can never look as dainty as Jorgie because she has the build of a skier not a ballet dancer and doesn't have the years of ballet training. She has improved her presentation tremendously since the start and her skating is as Robin says technically the best.

I liked Jorgie from the start and have really enjoyed most of her routines despite some pretty sloppy footwork but I agreed with Louie tonight that it was bland and boring. She didn't even keep the ribbon waving. She only moved it when she was being lifted and didn't have to concentrate on her skating. When she was on the ice the ribbon was left to either simply stream straight out behind or was held with Matt. So she did not master the twirling skill. It seemed her routine relied on her looking pretty to pretty music and it came over pretty meh to me. Definitely the least interesting of all the routines and with the least skating skill involved.

I've not been a great fan of Jen but she deserved to be higher than Jorgie on the leader board tonight, although I'd have been happy had Jen gone out based on the balance of what they have all done to date.

I think Robin's a little infatuated with her being an Olympic skiing champion. I too find her a bit of a carthorse on the ice. Not graceful at all. I don't mind her personality and admire her achievements in life, but not in love with her skating.

That would be why he saved Chico tonight then.

I was replying to the OP who said "I just don't see what Robin sees". Robin has consistently told us how much he likes Chemmy and hopes her to still be there the following week and has saved her twice in the skate off as FAICR.

Fact is, there wasn't much between her and Chico tonight but two men and two women make for a better semi final. I think Chemmy's been bottom two 3 times now hasn't she?
