Matt E Was Not Pleased
Matt E has always been one of my favourites but he did not accept tonight's criticism gracefully.
I found that disappointing. |

I was surprised by the lack of circular skating, but maybe that would not work too well with the ribbon. It was all linear, hence dull.

Maybe T and D choreographed according to Jorgies's skills ....... (or lack thereof). Perhaps now we are approaching the end, the wheat is being sorted from the chaff.

Yes you can blame T&D but at the time they are devising the choreography they should say something instead of just accepting what they are given.

I was disappointed with Matt's reaction tonight it seemed a touch unprofessional in how he was coming across. Yes I know the pro's want to defend their celeb but at the end of the day they should know how to take the criticism and in this case it was justified. As for the VT in the results show Matts face was very disturbing it looked like he wanted to kill the judges because they had dared to mark them down.
I have found myself liking Matt less as the years have gone on he seems to have developed more of an attitude as time has passed and doesn't always come across as well as he did before based on some of what he puts on twitter and facebook as well as how he is on the show. Sometimes I think he comes across as a little arrogant and beyond criticism.Sorry to the Matt fans but he is not a favourite pro anymore I'm afraid. |

Maybe because it was bullshit.
Thankfully, Karen and Matt both pointed out that the choreography is NOT theirs, they are given it. They were also given the props, they didn't choose what to use and how many to put into the routine. What Jorgie was given to do, she did it 100% correct as far as I'm aware. Had Matt not caught the ribbon, or she tripped on it, or a lift went wrong, or the ribbon failed to flow, then fair enough. None of this happened - so what's with the *scores? It may not have been as good as Chemmy's or Chico's (all subjective), but I think only Katarina explained this. She said she had marked them 8.5 because she preferred Chemmy's and Chico's routine which is fair enough in my opinion. Louis, however, blamed the choreography which isn't Jorgie's fault, so it is unfair to mark her on it. Edit: *I think 8.5 was fair from Robin and Katarina. By scores, I meant Louis' score in particular. |

I'm sure all the pro's would have behaved in the same way if put in the same situation .. we've seem pros in the past defend their parters when there's been some contravercy or they aren't happy with the marks
I didn't think the performance was great and thought that marks wise it should have been second bottom but I don't think Matt's reaction or response was OTT |

That had nothing to do with the choreography but about Jorgie having crocodile arms during the routine. |

I liked the fact that Matt was defending his partner.
Him and Jorgie have worked on that routine all week, have had confidence that they will do well. They get ripped apart for the choreography and the prop- the two things they cant control, and you could tell it knocked Jorgie's confidence. |

The risk of becoming tangled and having a serious accident was a major risk for them. So to complete the routine with no problems and do a completely clean and precise skate was in my eyes (and for the majority of fans) was fantastic. Jorgie has a huge fanbase and she is talented skater, her dance background has really helped her. I do hope she is given better choreography next week to prove to those who believe she should of gone that she does deserve to be there. |

I made that point elsewhere, except I elaborated to the point that had it gone wrong, it would of much worse for them than the other skaters having their routines go wrong.

Not true, he actually said that Jorgie didnt finish off her moves, he was even mimicking how he would have liked her to have more flourish in her moves etc.
That had nothing to do with the choreography but about Jorgie having crocodile arms during the routine. |

That was only after Matt had pointed out that they were given the routine ie. backtracking on why he marked them so low. He didn't actually say that to them in his initial comments as far as I can remember.

A guy does a triple somersault with a twist, makes a slight splash on entry. The next guy does one somersault and then a perfect dive straight into the water. Clean as a whistle, cannot fault it. Are you honestly saying he deserves to win since technically he did his dive better than the first person? Degree of difficulty has to come into play. To me it shows that Jorgie cant actually skate nearly as much as some of you think. |

Odd no one has referenced the 5.5 Robin gave Jorgie - before he then claimed it was all a mistake and he meant 8.5 following the boos.
That must be the first time a mistake has occurred all series - and his correction seemed to be in response to the public reaction and evil looks from certain quarters. Was it really a mistake - or is that the mark he really meant to give? |
