I'm not surprised people think the routine was poor when they don't remember what was in it.
He also said it was all about the ribbon and nothing happened, which certainly seems to have something to do with the choreography.
Katarina's also made little sense, since she thought the number of props was important and that the others' props were more integrated into the routines, and then that the judges expected more from Jorgie because of the first week, which made it seem the mark was because of what she'd done on the night.
The average on the app was 9 and a quarter of the people gave it 10. So a lot of people disagreed with the marks, which suggests it couldn't have been all that dull a routine.”
Firstly I take the app with a pinch of salt, fans will vote for their favorite regardless. Without knowing how app users voting looks in relation to final leaderboard ranking it's a bit of a worthless statistic.
Anyway, regarding Jorgies routine.
It's interesting that people are not remembering much of Jorgies routine, that actually says something about it.
I'm a massive fan of Jorgie and all I really remember about the routine is her skating around the rink with a ribbon and a single lift where she is twirling the ribbon.
I don't remember much of it than that, and what I remember was, while elegant, so basic looking it was boring. It didn't seem to go anywhere and I was waiting to see it go somewhere, I was waiting for her to put it down and do something a bit more visually pleasing and exciting.
Maybe it was because Jorgie was overwhelmed by the difficulty of using the ribbon, maybe T&D struggled to find ways to incorporate the ribbon, maybe the ribbon got in the way of any real dance.
I don't know, but the net result is that the ribbon lead to a very dull and forgettable performance.

And nothing above little respect for him is consistent with thinking he changed his mark because the producers told him to or because of the crowd response. If he did that, he would be utterly lacking in professionalism and integrity as a judge.”
He isn't infallible, he is a judge on a reality tv show, a hired hand, he isn't a judge in the Olympics.
The judges scoring is always delivered with a double standard, letting things slip for some and roasting for others. Which is of course due to the production team behind the scenes orchestrating everything.
Even the routines, they give the ones they don't want to keep either naff routines or routines that the celeb cannot execute well, they give their stars more impressive content.
