This post is perfect, the thread should've ended there.
Firstly, Alexandra's single is doing quite well anyway. I know it's not #1, but it's hardly doing appallingly.
Secondly, the song hasn't been promoted very well. It's had decent-ish MTV airplay, but it's radio airplay (probably the most important form of promotion) has been minimal. Even Rage Against the Machine's song that got to #1 a couple of years ago got more airplay, and that was a rock song full of swearing.
Thirdly, we have to accept that some people may simply not like the song. I like Alexandra, but I'm not particularly fond of this song to be honest.
