Kelly wasn't that great, Alex was better than her in my view, but Kelly was still better than Tulisa who flopped with 2/3 of her category and showed no musical knowledge.

Alexandra is at #3 now and there are reports of it even at #2 on iTunes so just lol at all the 'it will fail' comments and the like from you.

How exactly so? She's lacking airplay and to me that's the biggest promotion there is.

I would'nt use that excuse. It's not an amazing song and tbh does'nt really deserve to have much airplay. Let's see how far her dedicated fans get her. I kind of want it to do well but it just isnt a very good song.

I'm getting cocky at all....just merely stating the facts. It IS #3.

This post is perfect, the thread should've ended there.

Firstly, Alexandra's single is doing quite well anyway. I know it's not #1, but it's hardly doing appallingly.

Secondly, the song hasn't been promoted very well. It's had decent-ish MTV airplay, but it's radio airplay (probably the most important form of promotion) has been minimal. Even Rage Against the Machine's song that got to #1 a couple of years ago got more airplay, and that was a rock song full of swearing.

Thirdly, we have to accept that some people may simply not like the song. I like Alexandra, but I'm not particularly fond of this song to be honest.

Nah, if people like the song, they'll buy it, regardless of who's the artist.

I wish Alex the best of luck with the new album. She comes across as a grounded, vivacious young woman. Still hope she'll record a duet with Leona one day!

It's now at number 3. If this does get to number one then this thread is pretty pointless. With pretty much no radio play, it will be a huge acheivement.
