Music and everything after a general discussion of all things loved an loathed.

Popping into specific artists music appreciation threads talk often wavers and meanders off onto other artists mainly fringe or cult with not enough of a following to have their own appreciation thread and all new music and such like so it is my aim now to unite all these threads and off beat discussions into one big non specific non general discussion:

No genre is off bounds
No musician

And all i ask please refrain from trolling and antagonising certain fan groups and peoples its all about the music here

So feel free to offshoot off load and above all else talk about the music.

Personally im totally in love with Siobahan Donaghy at the moment she was robbed of success

I really liked La Roux's debt but felt like she released the wrong single (I'm not your toy)

Yes i agree and the re-release of quicksand was a bit odd then she totally fell off the radar apart from that sidetracked album they did.

although are meant to be making a comeback this year with a more sexy sound apparently

But Florence was the out and out winner of 2009

I am totally in love with Robyn at the moment

When she became successful in 07, i liked her but went straight off her really quick. Then some friends of mine got me to listen to Body talk around Xmasd time and it's one of the best dance albums I have ever heard and then i checked out her Robyn album out and it's fantastic as welll

She is so underated but i am glad she is not too successful, plus she does all her music herself on her own label. That is amazing. I am so obsessed with her right now. Roll on the next album please. She is such as a swedish delight.

One of the biggest bands of contrasts at the moment is Coldplay. I really like Yellow, Clocks, Fix You, Violet Hill and Paradise in particular. However, I found Trouble so dreary that I could hardly believe it was the follow-up to Yellow. This might be why Yellow was only my 2nd fave single of 2000 in the end. Likewise God Put a Smile On Your Face was dreary and Speed of Sound was over-rated, but they made up for it with their follow-up Fix You.

Paul Young managed the extremities of featuring in my top 40 worst songs of the 80s but top 10 songs of the 90s.

I dislike 3 Beach Boys songs God Only Knows, Barbara-Ann and Lady Lynda. Yet Good Vibrations is a masterpiece and Do It Again is my official no 1 song of all-time!

I've liked Roisin Murphys various collaborations the past few years, but now, Im more than ready for an album proper.

I know shes had a baby, but even I'm getting impatient now!

I was also expecting a new Roxy Music album, but that seems to have died a death too... I guess Eno & ferry are too set in their ways now...

I loathe Alexandra Burke and Nicki Minaj.
'Turn Me On' is just the most awful song of the year so far..

However I am currently loving Kasabian and Elbow after discovering an album or two..

I've been discovering some of Whitney's lesser known hits and I am glad i did because despite being known for some truly amazing songs, these lesser known hits are quite good and show her vocals off tremendously more.
