Do You Vote For Best Performance On Night Or Favourite Act?
What I mean is - I know a lot of people on these boards have already made their minds up about who their favourites are but if another act really shone on the show would you actually vote for that person instead of your own favourite or would you still vote for your own favourite from previous shows or would you vote both? Or maybe not vote at all?

I always vote for my fave (cassie) many times, but if shes not the best of the night (which she was on saturday, but the week before was beaten by VWS) i will vote for them 2/3 times aswell.

I vote on the person I am most impressed with that evening.
"Best performance" is always going to be subjective, as you will be influenced by musical style, presentation and of course that X factor of you just liked the person/group. But when I make my vote (and I do vote) - I don't know who I will vote for until I have heard them all that night. |

I don't vote, I just grumble and offer opinions and constructive (ahem) criticism to the TV. I'm too cynical to actually vote

Surely if people have a "favourite", by definition they will vote (singly, or most out of multiple votes) for that person come what may, if they vote at all - that's what a favourite means. People will not want to risk their favourite not getting through in a week when they were eclipsed by another performance.

I've voted for Steve and Verity every week, as they are/were my favourites. I did the same in Pop Idol 1 as well, I voted for Gareth every single week without fail.

i voted Cassie a couple of times (3-5) each week because she is my favorite and imo she gave the best performance on both shows then a give a vote each to others like Rowetta (voted once both weeks), Steve and Voices with Soul (voted once the first week) because imo Rowetta was the 2nd best both shows. In the first week i voted Voices with soul once because i thought they were one of the best and Steve coz i like him and thought h should gt a chance to sing when well.

interesting thread
i don't often vote until the later stages. however, although rowetta is my favourite in many ways, this week i voted for steve (another favourite) as i felt not only had he done the equal top (with cassie) performance, but that he had a hard time from sharon this week (after louis last week) i would never vote for a 'least favourite' even if i felt they had done well, like tabby this week. unless of course i totally change my mind about them and they become a favourite, like darius did |

I have voted for Cassie and Tabby both weeks so far, last week I also voted for VWS because I thought they were great at opening the show. This week I also voted for Steve as I liked his performance, but I wasn't so impressed with VWS.
If Tabby or Cassie were absolutely terrible, I would then have to question whether I would vote for them or not. (And I know a lot of people think Tabby is terrible full stop, so jump on that point if it gives you pleasure  )

Cassie is IMO, by far the best singer in the comp. I love her for that. However, Tabby is a good singer and is a fab performer with huge charisma and personality. Real entertainment and an adorable personality.
For the first time in ANY PI type show, I think I see in Tabby utter star quality. Something is there that I see in other, well established rock stars; something really lasting. The guy is a born performer. He is a cool as they come. I love that young man. He's fab. |

I vote on the basis of the performance I enjoy the most each week. I imagine that as the weeks go by I might develop a favourite, but at the moment I'm still making up my mind. I also think about who I'd miss if they weren't there next week.

I would always vote for my favourite, which invariably would also be the best
I will not be voting as long as the judges have the final say. |

Mostly performance. I'll still make sure my fav has a vote though. My Fav is Rowetta, but on Saturday I thought Cassie was the best performer, so I voted for her twice and Rowetta once.
